I always thought the refs had it in for Yao, white refs, black refs and that one hispanic ref. But wow, after watching the way they officiate Dwight howard, they just have it in for big men. It's a shame too because the center position is becoming obsolete. My beef is with the usual new comers to the houston media sports scene that have never covered yao ming and all of the sudden are experts. We, who have watched Yao grow up, know that he was not soft, that he had the heart and determination to go along with the talent. It's unfortunate that he could not stay healthy and things had to end this way. Yao was a special player.
Liberon is pretty racist. He goes out and calls out everyone that gives props to Yao a "blind, Asian YOF".
would you say people who think tmac sucks as an NBA basketball player are not necessarily racists, but are fairly shallow human beings?
You misread my post. What I meant was if someone "hates" Yao -- that is, dislikes him as a person -- there's very likely something wrong with them. Character-wise, let's just say McGrady is more flawed (and we're all flawed to some degree). I'm not saying McGrady is a bad guy, but Yao Ming is the rare athlete I feel children should look up to as a role model totally leaving aside his abilities as a sportsman.
man this thread is stupid. Yao Ming sucked. he was kinda weak. This is so stupid. racist over what? Whoever made this thread is racist. Everybody has freedom of opinion. freedom of speech. Not like china where you just have to think communist. what championship has yao won? how far did yao go in the play-offs? He's just weak. got injured. he was good at points. showed flashes. But never consistent enough to lead
Trust me there are more Yao haters in mainland China than the rest of the worlds combined. So Yao haters are not necessary equal to racists!
