Well Three games left. I think people care less about the finals and more about lebron choking. I am going to guess this series is going 7 since emperor stern wants his ratings. Choose your side.
I'm going with the reverse. Either Dallas will win it in Game 6, or Miami will prevail in Game 7. I actually think there's a good chance the officiating will be fair in Game 6, but if Miami can survive, I expect some serious home-cooking from the refs in Game 7.
How about Team Lebron, Wade, and Bosh make it. As long as Wade isn't limited noticeably, the Heat will take care of home-court.
It's just hard to argue the results. I don't know if Miami will win or not (I think they will), but I do know that they'll get a lot of calls in game 6. It's just ridiculous that huge plays like that LBJ charge/3pt-play are decided by the venue, not the rules of the game.
Lebron is playing horribly in this series, but maybe that makes it even clearer that this is his team. In the Chicago series, Wade was complete garbage for all but three minutes of the series and Miami still won easily behind Lebron's brilliant play. In this series, Wade has been amazing, but it isn't enough to carry the team with Lebron playing like crap. Of course, Dallas is also a better team than Chicago (at least in the playoffs).
After watching the replay and reviewing that rule, it still seems like a blocking foul to me, but that's not the point. We all know that LeBron gets that call in Miami, and that is what is so stupid about this game. A rule should be a rule.
Honestly, i think they will make it. And of course, people will forget how crappy he played all series and begin to over rate him even more as far as his place in NBA history.
no people will not forget how crappy he has played in 4th quarters on multi accounts he won't be the MVP regardless. so that is good enough for me. but people like clippy will still put him over MJ
this. the avg sports fans memory is only as good as the last game. lebron was great in the chicago series and wade was playing horribly. it's the opposite in this dallas series. if i had to bet though, id bet wade coming up big after playing horribly over lebron coming up big after playing poorly. heat needs lebron to play well, not wade, to win. if heat could get lebron going like he did in the bulls series and have wade take over, theyll be good. the blame lies more on lebron and coach spo. inability to adjust to zone defense and 4th q collapses are things that the coaching staff can affect. they cant put the ball in the hole but they can adjust. jim carrey has outcoached spo the entire series
Kobe's legacy is strange. I can't figure whether it was ruined by demanding a trade to the Lakers where of course Shaq would be entering his prime and he could have been the lead dog in Charlotte from the get go changing his basketball story? Or was it ruined with a lot of turds he layed in Playoff and Finals games + losing in the Finals in the way he did the first year as a lead dog plus another loss as a sidekick where he tried to be the man when he clearly wasn't? Eh, in the end, Kobe failed to reach Jordan status no matter how hard he tried. LBJ will have the same level "legacy" as Kobe in the end. Which of course is great, but no GOAT discussion should ever be had involving them.
Not only would he get that call in Miami, I'm pretty sure he would have gotten that call on the road in any series other than this one. It almost seems like the refs are going out of their way to make sure Miami does not get potentially questionable foul calls due to all the talk about officiating leading up to the Finals. I can only think of literally two bad foul calls that have gone in favor of the Heat in this series (the flop by Wade in game 3, and the flop by Lebron in game 4).
It's a shame that the media has been so desperate to find the next MJ. Kobe and Lebron should be celebrated for what they are as players, not compared to a player that they simply can't match.
