the only thing kobe might beat jordan in is number of rings.... but heck, robert horry got them both beat right now, so rings dont mean jack.

there's nothing kobe can do right now. the only way is to shoot 50% fg for a season, avging 30, getting mvp/dpoy/finals mvp all in the same year while being the principle factor in getting the championship that year. but that aint happening and kobe is never gonna be better than jordan

Even MJ never did that. Only Hakeem has.

This is unbelievable. Are you actually trying to insinuate that Hakeem is the GOAT? He might be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, post player of all time; but Jordan is GOAT.

Hopefully, I just had a reading comprehension fail.

Kobe is an amazing player, no doubt. That being said, Jordan is the goat for a reason.

    you did.

who made it to the nba finals first?

if you don't know that, that your memory of 80s/90s basketball is off or based off other things than facts.

alot of people would get this wrong.

and to your other point that you made through your comprehension fail.. you can compare Dream to Jordan. they came out the same year and were considered the best at their positions.

if you're a basic rockets fan, you should know this. this doesn't mean you know 80s/90s basketball.

the answer to the question was Rockets vs Celtics 86. Dream was there.

But some people's interpretation of Jordan/Bulls is that he steamrolled through the league the day he stepped on the court. Not the case.

Eventually the Lakers/Celtics/Pistons went on a decline and Jordan emerged.

But I have asked this question before on this board and many have said Jordan without even trying to google the facts.

that just shows what kind of marketing impact Nike and the NBA put on fans.

Or people just aren't old enough to have actually watched 80's basketball.

Yes; but what does that have to do with Dream being better than Jordan? Jordan was the best NBA player, Dream is the best C.

    ...

Just imagine if we had both Jordan and Dream... Guaranteed 10+ straight championships...

They didn't come into the league as the greats they became and they wouldn't necessarily have developed the same way playing together.

I agree with this. Same goes the other way around too. There's a lot of people out there that has never seen Jordan play that will argue to the death MJ is better.

I usually stay away from those arguments because I never really saw MJ play in his prime, so i'm in no position to really judge it other than looking at stats and highlight reels.

I did watch MJ and I say he's better than Kobe.

However, Kobe is most impressive and the closest thing to MJ for people who've never seen MJ.

For those other fans who are on here for some reason, their favorite player can't tie the shoes of either player.
