TRADE GLENN RICE FOR DANNY FORTSON or ...

Fortson is in the doghouse in Golden State. Why not trade Glenn Rice and Jason Collier for Fortson and a draft pick. We need an enforcer off the bench to protect Yao. Sending Glenn will also free quality minutes for Bostjan Najbar.

At 6-8, he is one of the top 5 rebounders in the league... Almost impossible to move once he gets the position... Plays with heart... Not offensively talented, but able to score more than 10 points per game off the bench. Next to Yao- his defensive short-comings would be masked.

    Golden State Warriors Salaries
    Danny Fortson 2002/03 $4,935,065 2003/04 $5,428,571 2004/05 $5,922,078 2005/06 $6,415,584 2006/07 $6,909,091

    total: $24, 680,259

    Houston Rockets Salaries

    Glen Rice 2002/03 $9,200,000 2003/04 $9,600,000

    total: $18,800,000

    difference: $5,880,259 (Rockets mid-level exception)

or perhaps Jahadi White 6-9' 290
    2002/03 $4,903,750 2003/04 $5,394,125 2004/05 $5,884,500

Salary cap purposes. Glenn only has two years left on his contract. Fortson wants out- T. Murphy has replaced him in the starting lineup. In addition, Jamison plays the 4 when Dunleavy comes in at the 3.

Fortson gets his rebounds by taking away his teammates' rebounds. He complains if they don't let him have them. The last thing you want is a Spreewell type player to ruin the team chemistry.

If you're going to litter the board with dumb trade proposals, at least make sure they work under the CBA.

Heck, at least have some elementary knowledge of the CBA. When calculating salaries for trade purposes, only the salary for the CURRENT year of the contract is used (or in an offseason trade, the player's salary beginning next season), not the entire contract length.

Once you pass CBA 101, we'll work on the more complicated stuff like base year compensation...

What is going on with some of the posters on this board?? Danny Fortson??? We already have three (count them, three!) PF's. And one of them is undersized. Why would we want another undersized PF? True, Kenny is preparing to play SF, but at the moment to me he is still a PF.

When will the season start!! Please God, make it start soon!!!
