I thought it was a nice block, but considering the height he got it at, his own height, and the other player's height, it's not top 10 of all time. Maybe not even close to it.
That's what I'm saying...well at least the easier blocks. I'm sure some guys can palm the ball as they block it.
Nice block. I sorta wish he would have started a fast break as soon as he landed instead of the stare down but I guess you can excuse that. Rarely do you see someone block the ball, keep it in the court and initiate an offense.
Daaaaaaaaaayyyuuuum! Mama Magee must've been exploding in the stands! I bet she looked as proud as she did when she brought out that third ball for the slam dunk contest.
Haha, to me that's what makes this play the greatest block of all time !! Mutombo did a lot of that but unfortunately Stern's dictatorship didn't allow any of it, neither wagging or pointing, so Deke couldn't do it anymore when he was with the Rockets. Boo-hoo you wagged your finger at me McGee's is very reminiscent of Laphonso's with the stare but the T-wolve guy came straight at him and was much higher with ball. Still a great block by Javalle.
I don't know if I'm slipping here but I think there is a more impressive 360 block, the only thing I remember is that the blocker had a shaved head and he did a full 360 while I'd consider Ellis more like a 180. Does anybody know what I'm talking about or am I mistaken here?
By the way, in my days I used to take pride in blocking shots and blocking someone, in the fashion Mcgee did, were the ones I enjoyed the most. He was way ahead of Thabeet on my list of frustrating what if guys I'd be willing to take a flyer and groom.
Come on, Rockets fans! This one trumps both of the ones posted in this thread. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/aS25dibHOR0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
For the sake of being thorough, dont forget to consider what he had for breakfast, what the player had for breakfast, and what the guy who made breakfast for them had for breakfast. Great block. If it was just a nice block, more players would have been making that play.
