he has a golden opportunity to play well facing the Suns who are like the worst defense in the league and he's matched up their backups and gets DOMINATED on both ends. The guy lacks IQ and court awareness on either ends. Looks like he won't be nothing more than a garbage time scrub who's good for some highlight reel plays and athletic showcases here and there and will never be a rotation player for any winning team

Yes, and with the way Patterson is playing there's no reason to keep him. Now, if the Rockets can make a package their draft picks and land a center then we might have a team. And wen I say package I mean getting a top 5 pick to land someone like Perry Jones or one of the Euro 7 footers in the draft. Bottom line is we need someone that can man the middle and we just don't have that in Chuck Hayes.

He isn't even remotely athletic. No hops, no awareness, not consistent shot.

Patterson has been getting more minutes lately, yet Jordan Hill started this game? It just doesn't add up to me.

Was it match ups? Someone enlighten me.

Wonder why he didn't play with motivation tonight. He had everything going for him:

    - back in Arizona
    - starting slot gift-wrapped and handed to him
    - plenty of time out there
    - matched up against Warrick, who is probably just a bit more athletic

Plenty of things going his way and he still wasn't in it. He needs a good talking to, or something to scare him into playing harder. Very disappointing performance tonight.

Patrick Patterson on the other hand, phenomenal. Great shooting, rebounding, spacing, defensive awareness. Just Great all-around!

It's not motivation. He just isn't good enough at basketball.

The combination of Hill and Hayes was absolutely pathetic tonight. One of the worst performances by a starting frontcourt I've EVER seen.

    A tenure cannot be numbered.

But his days are hopefully numbered as a Rocket.

I think he's fairly athletic for a big man. At least when he got here that was one of the selling points.... otherwise why would anyone draft a 6ft 10 guy without skills to be a project?

    Has to have some athleticism.

    Lawyered.

Some athleticism, but he lacks power (due to his thin frame), he isn't "quick", hes actually pretty slow considering how lanky he is, he can't finish on simple dunks, doesn't have the good hops like Patterson does to grab rebounds on their peak.

Terrible lawyer if you ask me..
