This all seems simply like masturbation without the mess... Thabeet will be whoever Thabeet will be. And, whatever that i's, at this point, it ostensibly nothing to build a team around. The Rockets should stay tue course and look to acquire better players when the opportunities arise.
I give him this off season to train and develop his ass off before I make judgment. If he doesn't improve by then... Well, you know the story. It's up to him whether he wants to thrive in the NBA. He's got to want it. The coaches can only do so much if the drive/heart is not there...
He played well those games where Gasol was injured. When he was sent to the D-League he put up numbers you would expect from a 7'3" 2nd overall pick player. 13.8ppg 11.2rpg 3.17bpg All that while shooting 50% in 32mpg. Deke like numbers when he was in his prime (All-Star/ defensive player of the year). There's hope. Just no playing time...
thats dumb.. what else should people talk about, the hopeless run at the playoffs that will only hinder their position in the draft...
Word. Believe. That word used to mean something. But hey, lets tank and get another mediocre draft pick. That'll be fun. Right?
Yeah gotta love those mediocre draft picks ... I mean look at Patterson, his mediocre at best, right?
Great post, Sir, great post. Thabeet and Miller have the Rockets in the hook for close to $10M in the center position next year. That amount should be paid to a solid starting center. If Shane was not traded and was allowed to leave after the season his salary would have been cap friendly considering that the team needs all the salary relief it can to get further below the cap. The draft pick in the trade is really a crap shoot since it is almost guarenteed to be in the mid or lower 1st rd. Thabeet had been given enough chances to prove his worth, and he is certainly not worth the cap and roster space that he is wasting. Bad trade.
I'm optimistic that Thabeet does have a future in the NBA, but I don't expect him to be in any all-star games.
Funny everyone sees the hope of Thabeet while the team that drafted him,and undoubtedly spent tons of hours developing him, tried trading him for a expiring contract and a pack of cigarettes....
Are you taking about the same team that traded Pau Gasol for a bag of peanuts or the same team that traded Kyle Lowry for an expiring contract of an ageing Steve Francis(who they didn't even keep)... which one is it, douche..
Well today is the day Thabeet works out with CD. If he shows any signs of hope CD will surely know after today's work out. I can't wait to see the video of CD working with Thabeet.
There is no reason for hope. If the Rockets can Turn Thabeet Around (tm), he might have a future in the NBA as a career backup. That is one big IF though.
Hasheen better figure out quickly that these training sessions with CD are not just merely for personal improvement. They are also meant to evaluate his future potential for 2012-2013. In other words, Hasheen better prove to the Rockets why he is worth picking up the option for those years. Good luck to him (and us).
The "HOPE" of TBeet is not in the Rockets hands it is his own... ( we gave up a player that was not coming back for him... that is really not much ) Put the numbers away and let's just sit back and watch... ( He MAY get some playing time next year... ) He may be worth the wait... Give time, time
