After all the excitement of Yao coming, there was a game played. That game, aainst the Magic, said much about our team and playrs.

First off Griffin. He deserves tons of time this season. His lock-down defense is very impressive. More impressive: his team defense, making the whole team look good on defense. Griffin is blocking and rebounding: making it easy at that. Starter...definitely should be.

Rice is shooting the ball very nicely...between this game and last, the stroke is all good. Slow on defense still, he will be a liability on defense. Yet Yao and Griffin will be behind him. And lets face it, Rice and Nachbar both look below adverage on defense right now. With Morris out, our defensive three is going to have to be Torres or Hawkins.

Cato....seemed to have a lackluster game against the Trailblazers. His attitude seemed to sulk during that game; the old Cato returns? Well if nothing else, he showed some attitude out there tonight. Seems to me everyone was asking for an enforcer last season. IMHO now that Cato is going to play a little less minutes and probably be less relied upon, he can waste a couple fouls....kind of the same fouls that put Grant Hill on his @$$ two plays in a role.

Maddox sucks right now, he needs a season overseas or in the NBDL. He's going to turnover the ball over whenever there is a press...he's not confortable bringing the ball up and his role would be backup PG, that's not going to work. Dribbling to the sideline and picking up your dribble won't work, picking up the dribble in itself will not work. Any benefits to a gauranted contract if he's not in the lineup.

Hawkins looks good after one game. Do we have room for him? I'd hate to be Rudy, decisions decisions. So who gets in....You need Brown don't you....simply as safety if Mooch or Steve gets injured again. Does Hawkins take Torres's place if he continues playing good the next two games?

    Any thoughts or disagreements?

i pretty much completely agree with those observations.

rice is slow on defense but position wise he's smart so he tries to make up for it there. his stroke looks great though.

griffin should start immediately. he has a nose for the ball and can nail that little face up jumper.

tito needs a year of develomental basketball. way, way, too nervous or indecisive or whatever it is.

Well, he'll be a good back-up center. But, he's getting paied more
than Mobley and KT. That's gotta hurt!
