What if the Rockets don't make any moves? We all know that it's not for lack of trying. I know we all would share the same disapointment, but what should the Rockets do: go into full tank mode or continue to strive to make the playoffs only to most likely to be bounced out of the first round. Let your opionions be known!!
They will never go into tank mode. Coaches don't want to lose. Players don't want to lose. You play to win. Period. The same question was being asked last year while we were flirting with the 7 through 9 spot, and we made a move that everyone seemed to think pushed us to the playoffs. Obviously we didn't get in, but you never play to lose. Our team isn't filled with losers despite what many seem to think.
If the Rockets don't make a move, I'd consider it a failure by Rockets management. The said they'd need to make significant moves last year, and what have they done? They resigned Scola, Lowry, swapped Ariza for Lee, brought in Brad Miller, and traded a future first round pick for a guy who can't get in the game. None of which addresses our biggest needs.
Going into tank mode will demoralize the team and lead to failure. I would like high lottery picks too,but the only way to acquire them is through trades. Not tanking. They should try their best to get into the playoffs.
What if the only move is to dump Jeffries' contract to Sacramento, plus $3 million, to get under the luxury tax?
i think we should make trades to dump of some players like say aaron brooks and get pick or 2 Trade battier to celtic or lakers for something good(if they have anything) and let t will play and see what he got he may be a hidden gem
What I hope: the Rockets go into full rebuilding mode in the offseason. Morey is still obviously "buying" at this deadline. If he can't buy anything, then he needs to sell and rebuild. What I believe: GARM will be fully uninhabitable between the 'Fire Morey/Adelman' threads and 'Rockets is doomed for eternity' threads
Pretty sure the team has made it clear that there's no interest in a full on, classic tank job. I'm going to go ahead and assume nothing has changed in the face of Utah losing Deron and Denver losing Carmelo. We're firmly in NBA Purgatory at this point, and there's nothing to do except be patient and see what happens. There's no superstar coming in trade in the next few hours, and there's no high draft pick coming after the Rockets finish the season either just in or just out of the playoffs. The future is cloudy.
So do they make a bad move for the sake of making "a move"? Last year they went into the summer under the belief that Yao would be able to play this year. So they made moves accordingly. We went after Bosh and had a trade in place to get Chandler. Bobcats backed out at the last minute. Miller was supposed to be a backup C for us, not a starter or major contributor. He has been forced to do more since Yao is out. TWill probably is not showing much in practice to get playing time. I believe Morey will make a move that improves the team. If not, we will have cap space this summer to try again. the man is trying. He can't do it by himself. Have to have another team willing to give up a player.
