Nene's TS% if .685 and he scores nearly 18 pts per 36 minutes. Now, he gets a lot of assisted baskets around the basket, but it's to his credit that he's able to find so many high % opportunities and finish them at such a high rate. A high efficiency interior finisher around the basket is something the team can use and missed since Yao and Landry are gone. Scola and Hayes have to finesse their way around the hoop and Hill and Patterson are still learning.

Also, it doesn't concern me that Nene scores often off teammate's passes since a good offense (and especially a good Adelman offense) should have plenty of passing (the Rockets have a very good assist/made basket ratio). Adelman certainly found ways to get Kevin Martin plenty of high efficiency scoring opportunities within the offense.

If nearly 40 of the points you score in a game are from two guys (one interior player and one wing) who each have TS% over .600, it's nearly impossible to be bad offensively.

As for D, Nene really isn't bad. He's not a great shot blocker, but he's got quick feet and quick hands on top of size. You can definitely make that work.

Nene is special. If he's available, you do whatever is necessary to

This trade would help us and hurt them. We fall out of Lottery. It's actually 3 lottery picks assuming we take their spot in the playoffs. Wait there, 4 Lottery picks after throwing in Jordan Hill. I'd like to keep that NY pick, especially if anyone besides NY land Melo.

great point. we don`t have any one like him on the team now, we need a power post player and he`s exactly that.

Nene is a FANTASTIC defender. He is somewhere between Tyson and Chuck. He doesn't really block that many shots, but he changes loads of them with effective, intelligent positioning. I haven't a clue where you guys are getting your scouting reports. A Luis Scola/Nene Hilario frontline would immediately put the Rockets back where they need to be, a star wing short of true contention.
If you add Nene and say, Danny Granger. You have really got something...

Going into next year, we could have some awesome building blocks. We would still need to add that star swingman, but I really like what Morey is thinking if this is true. You know that he would love to land a stud SF like Danny Granger to throw in the mix.

    1. Kyle Lowry
    2. Kevin Martin
    3.
    4. Luis Scola
    5. Nene Hilario

Lock these guys up longterm, and we suddenly look pretty damn close to contention... Still need a SF, but I am starting to like how it is taking shape.

I would't worry as much about his shotblocking as rebounding. He never avereged more then 7 playing regularly over 30 minutes/game.

I like Nene and he is a big upgrdae over what the rockets have, but he's just a solid player. Solid is something the rockets have alot of. Also, he fits in the 2012 window, but the rockets would have to renounce him to make a run at Howard or williams. If they did that, they risk losing him and the chance to get howard.

Smdh... Im starting to feel like were going to be stuck in mediocrity forever, it doesn't take a genius to realize we should be in rebuild mode stocking piling picks and expiring's and tanking to find a legit franchise player at all cost through draft or free-agency why are we continuing to build a team with no franchise players or we still relying on yao to come back and fill that void

I think this is a bad idea. No point in getting Nene at this point, the season is trash and if we get a good spot in the lotto we can draft a decent Center. We need to use our assets and get a star player for this team. I could see giving up some assets and a draft pick for say Steve Nash and Lopez in Phoenix or Williams and Jefferson in Utah but I have been luke warm on Nene from the beginning. He's ok but I would think we could do better, not to mention Denver has zero reason to deal him to us when they are trying to do the same thing we are and thats getting into the playoffs this year as is anyone in our conference outside of T-wolves and Kings which I would rather have Dalembert or Thompson from the Kings.

We really need to look out East for our Center, a team in the East is more willing to deal with us I think. We might be able to get Bargnani from Toronto or McGee from Washington. I'd love to get Gerald Wallace and Nazr Mohammed from Charlotte or Bogut and Delfino from Milwaukee. But I like all those scenerios better then just getting Nene because we need upgrades at SF along with the C position. I don't know what the hell Morey has been thinking lately but I don't like anyone he's been going after.

Everytime the offseason gets here or trade deadine is looming we are promised the sun the moon and the stars and what do we get? well basically nothing. We have been asking for a quality back up Center for Yao ever since Mutumbo went down and not just any Center but a shot blocker and rebounder. Brad Miller is none of those, neither is Jordan Hill or Chuck Hayes those guys are all Power Forwards trying to do a Center's job and it isn't there fault that the front office is stretching their talent as far as it can go.

Morey has really screwed the pooch this year.

Look for Battier to be included in this trade (in addition to the assets Denver wants), to get the salaries to match. Also, this deal would be submitted to the league before the Melo deal, so that Battier could be immediately waived to clear roster space for the players Denver will receive in the Melo deal. We will have a wink wink deal to resign Battier in 30 days. In a separate deal, we can send Jeffries to Sacramento or Cleveland, plus $3 million and/or a 2nd round pick, so that we can get under the luxury tax.
