I think it would be a good idea if the Rockets and CFans community created a website to send Melo our condolences.

I don't have the resources or time frankly to do this, but I think if we did it right he would realize how great a city Houston is and how great the fan base is.

Rockets fans made a big website to bring Chris Bosh to Houston, why not let Melo know how sorry we are for his loss and in the process show off the class of Houstonians?

    Just a thought.

    That sounds pretty shallow.

Exploiting a family death to try to lure him to our team? No thanks.

Horrible news, Willie Green's sister also died recently. She was in the car with their cousin, who was driving under the influence.

No... you send condolences because you genuinely mean it, not because you want to use that to get him on our basketball team.

Lol. As I was writing this I said to myself boy this isn't a very good idea. So I'll own it..."my bad."

Seriously though, why not a bring melo to Houston campaign like the bring bosh to Houston campaign? I know melo isn't a free agent, but I think we all agree the Rockets have the pieces in place to make a move for melo and part of the reluctance is melo wanting New York only. Why not try to sell Melo to Houston like we tried with Bosh?

    Cliff notes:
    Horrible idea by OP (me)
    Start Melo to Houston campaign

Because it never works. The Bosh campaign was lame and this would be too. Do people really think basketball players care about that type of stuff when making a big time decision on where to go?

It really is horrible and I posted what I said out of good intent. After re-reading it after my post and the responses made me realize it would be in poor taste to do something like that.

you're lame.. the clutchfans community did something not a lot of fan bases have done.. Chris bosh might not of worked out for us, but let's face it.. some superstar in the lleague had to take notice to our passion and wants for this team..

i dont think this melo deal is a bad idea, but i hate when people just see the bosh campaign as an embarassment.. players are humans.. they want to be loved, it's not easy being a professional thats why there are so little of them in the league.. how do you specifically know what each player wants or doesnt care to hear?
