Lowry is a defensive specialist who can draw fouls and run the fast break. He's good at those things. But he's injury-prone, and he's not good at anything else. For me, if we were moving one of them, it would have to be him. Yet, I like all of the Rockets, and don't want anybody to be traded. If they have to be to get a better player, then I'll assess it when I see the trade, but I'm not rooting for anybody to be traded away. Anybody who is, is a bad fan.
If you trade away brooks, it should only be for a star playmaking scorer in return. Brooks is our most clutch player - we can't afford to give that up because we will need that in late game situations. He's missed a lot early on but it is in fact, early on.
The Reason it's AB is because He Doesnt Defend well. And with Martin at SG its probaly the worst defensive backcourt in history of NBA. With him demanding atleast 8 Mil next year, it is probaly our best interest to Package Him and Hill/Patterson, Bud, Picks and Expirers to Net us a All-Star(Like Carmello).
Here is my ranking of the three PGs. Ball handling 1. IS, 2. AB, 3. KL Passing 1. IS, 2. KL, 3. AB Court vision 1. IS, 2. KL, 3. AB Decision making 1. IS, 2. KL, 3. AB Attacking basket 1. KL, 2. AB, 3. IS Jump shot 1. AB, 2. KL, 3. IS Overall, like IS the best and AB should be the odd one out if there has to be one.
C'mon, your making those of us who want to trade Brooks look bad. If you are going to add "by far" for defense, you better say the same about the gap in outside shooting. At least try to be objective.
That seems like a pretty fair assessment to me, although we have to remember that Ish has only played a game and a half, so after a few weeks he will most likely move down in a couple of those categories. I say Lowry is the odd man out simply because of the fact that he spent much of the second half of last season sitting out with injuries and seems to be starting the same way this season. I love his style and what he brings to the court, but if he never steps onto the court there is no point in having him. I would hate to trade Smith only to be forced to bring up a D-leaguer later in the season to fill in for an injured Lowry. All that being said, I don't think we should trade any of them unless it is for a legit superstar.
That's just an example. I also didn't mention AB is "by far" the worst in "passing", "decision making" and "court vision" catergories.
i voted lowry simply because Ab is a better scorer and smith is more of a pure point guard, lowry is good player but not great at neither one of them. I still havent given up on AB but he needs to, not just pass the ball learn how to set up players effectively.... smith just has too much potential.
Well I can't argue with your ranking, but AB is also "by far" the best scorer. He's the only one that could give us 30 points on any given night. That's a pretty good skill to have.
Not only Melo levels superstars...think.... If Iggy becomes available, why wouldn't it be wise to give Brooks+salary fillers+ sweeteners? And trade is URGENT.....why to get so many assets, if realistically you can't have a 12 player rotation and 1st round picks are not help now, and there's no guarantee that they'll be that helpful in the future? TRADE ASAP PLEASE!!!
The issue is that AB could get the Rockets a bteer player in return than Lowry...BTW, if Brooks leaves for Iggy, then a PG could be gotten with some other assets...imo, Hinrich is the most likeable to get, undervalued ....motivation could be boosted arriving a team like the Rockets, where his Basketball IQ could find a better fit (and he's a pretty good defender and shooter also)....
The odd man out has to be one of either Ish or Lowry since they play a very similar style of ball. That being said, Ish is a 3rd string PG and nothing more. He will be relegated back to that role as soon as AB and KLOW return. There is absolutely no need to get rid of any of them. Lowry and Brooks need each other to be successful. THe compliment eachother perfection and if one is gone, the other will struggle tremendously.
