That's exactly how I'm feeling. They'll just give us a bunch of meaningless wins at the end of the season when it doesn't matter. Giving us false hope in the offseason.
exactly. Texans never make adjustments whether they are up at the half or not. It's mind boggling. What is the coaching staff good for then?
The intentional grounding call was horrible from Mike "San Diego" Carey and could have been the difference in the game. That said, the Texans definitely had their chances to win and blew that on their own.
texans should have had 27 in the first half. not blaming the refs, but i am blaming the stupid nfl rule book. that foster td would have won the game. foster scored his 3rd td before halftime.
Chargers still would have scored 29 total for the game. I didn't see any big calls that went against us when they had the ball that could have nullified their points.
That's kinda my point cuz some people r saying we been close to winning. But I still believe we are closer to 2-6 than 6-2
He put it on the ground because he was falling down as he caught the ball. He cut towards the end zone and as he was catching the ball he stumbled and then put the ball down to brace his fall. As the rule reads, he could have taken 10 steps while catching the ball but as long as he loses his balance during the catch and loses the ball when he falls to the ground then it's not a catch.
Quick Hits: Season's over. Can only lose two more and still hope for Wild Card...and we've got @Jets, two vs Titans, MNF vs Ravens, and @Philly on a short week to navigate through. And that's assuming they don't blow more games coming out flat or letting Kubiak come up with the plan. The Foster no-TD call was correct. The Grounding Call was awful, and the game. It's as if Kubiak is reluctant to use Foster. Ran the ball early after all the criticism....then went back to the Indy game plan in the second half. The guy was giving his best Barry Sanders impression today, and you don't find ways to get him the ball? I smell a slight power struggle there. The 30 Point rule strikes again. Too many FGs in the red zone (3), the early 4th down conversion attempt instead of a FG. Mentioned it before....but given that it's obvious Jackson can't contain his man more than 30% of the time.......WHY DOES HE NOT HAVE SAFETY HELP LOCKED IN BEHIND HIM????? Secondary coach has got to go. Sadly, Kubiak has to have a gun to his head from above to fire any of his poker buddy coaching staff members. He never secured the catch. He got both hands on it, had it in one hand pretty good, but couldn't tuck it and while ground can't cause a fumble, ground does determine if you secured a catch or not. It was the right call. It wasn't remotely questionable. Schaub was not under pressure, plus he had a receiver in the area that he threw. Horrendous, indefensible call that was pivotal in the game's outcome. That's because the stadium will have to empty out like it did by the end of the 2-14 season for McNair to step in. And McClain couldn't be a bigger organizational sycophant. Just because Johnson's been nails doesn't change the fact that it was an off-target throw. DD is right, it was low, and if you've ever tried to run at full stride and catch a ball at your shin you'd never call that an easy catch. Andre has caught balls like that, he's a good bet to make those difficult catches, but I won't blame him for that INT. Schaub dodged bullets all day with near INTs, and a fluke bobble balanced the sheet. That zinger rings a bit hollow when WE are at the bottom of our division and SD is two games above Denver in the win column.
Yes, and sorry but if you take 10 steps without bobbling the ball and finally put it on the ground then its a catch and a fumble. Or at least it should be. Which is why I said they need to look at it.
Dungy on NBC thought the Foster no TD was a TD, was very mad about it and thinks the rule will be changed next year.
If you watched the last three games they've played, that's not surprising. Raiders have been playing consistently well relative to us.
Week 3: It's just one game! We're 2-1, that's fantastic! Week 5: It's just one game! We're 3-2, we're playoff bound! Bye: We ran all over the Colts week 1, and now half their team is on IR! We're gonna sweep and be 5-2! Week 8: A split with Indy is great! We'll be 5-3 after beating up the Chargers! Look forward to the advanced math some posters will be using to try and keep hope for the Wild Card once we're 5-6.
The Rockets shouldn't be where they are right now, but scoreboard is scoreboard. Texans are exactly what their record is right now, a middle of the road team.
