Chandler isn't a bad player at all but I don't think he's a player we would use/need at the moment. Either way, NY is pushing very hard to get Houston involved in this trade. Not just the picks but the small assets we have. I think Morey will get involved one way or another. I trust Morey... I'm just worried about us giving up assets for players we truly don't need. We do need to make upgrades but at this point in the game, we might be best waiting till pre-season is over or a few weeks into the season. Either way, Morey will get the job done one way or another. We do need a backup center...
What injury? I heard KMart and Birdman are injured, but didn't hear about Nene suffering something serious.
I think randoplh is a better ball handler than smith and has a better outside game off the dribble. Once ak got the big contract and started getting injured, thats when he seemed out of position. All three are hybrid, larry nance type of guys to me when i see them. They ak and randolph can survive well enough at the 3 especially in a motion type of offense. Now if you're going to just have him spotting up in the corner, then that will be a problem. He has enough on his side in terms of talents and upside that he's worth the 1st rd pick or patterson or even both to me.
Actually I didn't mean it like that. But still, the man has no heart, or better yet, doesn't care a lot about the game, before someone digs up another wiki quote on me...

christomasson I will double check if the plan is still for Melo to talk to the media here. But there's a chance that some late-breaking things happening.
Trading those picks now is out of the question for me. Our team is quite set and no player we can acquire from NY will be a starter here. As of now, those picks seem to be considered as a 10-15th pick, and that won´t get you a starter. If NY team starts as bad as i expect them to be, those team could be potential top 10 picks, and then you can trade them for something more valuable from other teams and not just the Knicks.
I agree, I think we should only trade the picks (together with other assets) if it nets us a starter . Our starters are very solid, so basically we are talking about getting a star. Why trade the picks for someone who will have difficulties to even earn minutes?
While I agree with you about the picks, I think we have to be investigating joining the trade simply because if the Knicks can land Melo in the offseason anyways the 2012 pick probably won't be that high (and its top 5 protected anyways). If the Knicks can land Melo in a trade then the 2011 swap also might not hold as much value. I would much rather facilitate a deal to the Nets (i.e. trade NY's 2012 pick) and get something in return, while Melo signs with the Nets and we ensure higher value to the 2011 swap. Also, the assets we get back can be potentially better as well because the pick we trade will still have value after being traded.
hmm interesting.. i think if this goes down its a win win for everyone.. I dont think u can say NY was a total failure if they turned cap space, Jordan Hill, Jarred Jeffries, +2 draft picks into Amare, Carmelo, Felton That is a pretty good team right there. I wouldn't mind Randolph.. if we got him at least this wouldnt happen anymore <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_GAtyNm8vnE?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_GAtyNm8vnE?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> That would cause a log jam at the 4.. it would be funny if we somehow sent Jordan Hill back to NY.. but he might be sent to Denver if this is a 3 team trade..
