A hat trick is: Texans win titans lose Cowboys lose I don't hate the Cowboys nearly as much as the titans. But I did enjoy watching that game last night.
On a more serious note...the Cowboys struggled all preseason and it showed in their first game. Everyone always talks about how the preseason doesnt matter, but its been shown time and time again that it does. If your team is struggling in a certain facet of the game during the preseason, it is almost a guarantee that it wont be fixed by week 1 of the NFL season.
i said pretty much the exact same thing in the Week 1 thread in the Hangout. I agree completely. If your first team is getting their ass handed to them every week of the preseason, it's likely that's what is going to happen when the regular season kicks in. The whole, "it's just preseason" crap only applies to the outcome of the game. Preseason wins and losses don't matter...because so many players who will never play in the regular season are affecting the outcome of preseason games.
Wade Phillips just has a certain Jack Pardee vibe about him. He just looks perpetually confused on the sidelines.
I'd much rather this thread talks about the cowgirls that show up on google image. I can't find myself to root for the football team when I hate their basketball team so much.

I think you are right to an extent. The "it's just preseason" motto is overplayed, but it does apply to more than just wins and losses. Areas where it doesn't apply though are areas like line play. If your offensive line is getting blown up in the preseason that portends failure in the regular season. The areas where the IJP mantra applies are things like playcalling, third down blitzing, etc. The Cowboys are in trouble because their OLINE looks awful.
I'm a Cowboys fan and that was a hilarious and infuriating ending at the same time. Here is Roy Williams...villain of the team and infamous for dropping passes trying to change his image with a redeeming TD pass catch. He catches it. Touchdown! Wait...bah hahahahahah. Come on...I'm a fan...but that was comedy at its finest. No redemption for Roy Williams. We will remember him more for that bomb catch where it was in his hands and he dropped it earlier in the game. And, it was even more fitting cause we Cowboys fans b****ed all off-season draft and pre-season about lack of offensive line depth and how Jerry is ignoring the situation is a problem. Somehow, the last three failed seasons all due to offensive line breakdowns eludes him as any type of problem area. So, what does he do...brings in Alex Barron the most penalized player in the NFL. I guess Barron can only go up from here. And, the first half blunder being all about Wade only stoking the critics' flames about his inability to coach smart teams that are not penalized heavily and undisciplined while also making dumb plays. The only problem standing in the way of the Cowboys super bowl aspirations are the players themselves continually shooting themselves in the feet at the worst possible times caused by mental lapses made in the heat of battle. Unfortunately, those lapses are enough to recognize a team that may be playoff-worthy...but isn't good enough to get to the last two games. And, after three or four years of this now with basically the same team nucleus, it doesn't seem we are learning from our past mistakes and are doomed to repeat them. Mostly, it's about mental aptitude/toughness and not having it consistently enough of the time. But, one thing Cowboys have always been pretty good about is how they follow up a bad loss in that you mostly don't want to be the team playing them the following week most of the time. Chicago should be coming in at a very bad time for them...cause now Cowboys gone and got upset about embarrassing themselves and their fans.
They do have a place. It is called the Hangout. When they move to Houston you can start talking about them in the Houston Sports forum.
Gotta love it! <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/x9ljL8_12c8?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/x9ljL8_12c8?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
PREFACE: I'm a HUGE Cowboy hater but a bigger Texans fan. You know what the smug posters say when Texans fans call them out? One word: FIVE. That's how many more superbowl trophies they have than us. It comes off as silly, immature, and shows our inferiority complex when we Texans fans bash the Cowboys and talk about how terrible they are with such delight. It bothers them not one iota. They have the most valuable franchise (according to Forbes), the biggest stadium, and whether you think they deserve it or not, have been called "America's Team" for some time now. Even their mediocre quartback routinely bangs beautiful pop stars, and had a lengthy tenure with someone that was dubbed "sexual napalm" by one of the world's preeminent cocksmiths. Why don't we worry about our own team, make Reliant stadium the toughest venue for opponents in the NFL, and stop trying to get under the skin of a team that actually uses their trophy case.
