the only wing players I would want on their team is George or Granger. Morey was after Brandon Rush in the draft before but he hasn't shown much at all in the NBA and we have Lee now. Dunleavy wouldn't see any time behind all the other wings and he isn't a PG by any means. He'd only be there to hangout and crack jokes with Battier. But Magnum Rolle is a nice player that I wouldn't mind having. I saw him play in the Orlando Summer League some and he is a pretty good athletic shot-blocker. I remember one play on where he got a pass on the break and dunked it right over Terrence Williams, who's a highflyer himself. But getting someone like Paul George for Hill would be more than enough for me.
Doesn't say any thing about unloading a wing.. doesn't even mention the word. And after reading this, there is no way Indy trades Granger.. he's going nowhere.
Funny that he goes no where if he stays indiana too. He needs to get out of there, he has the potential to be a top 3 SF in the league, that's not going to happen with earl watson running his team. Sure they got Darren Collison but for all we know he's just another Ramon Session.
The article does say NOTHING about the Pacers 'wanting to unload a wing for a big' let alone Paul George or Granger's availability. as much as we know, they're probably untouchable. but the article does mention the players they have that are on expiring contracts. "The Pacers have the expiring contracts of Mike Dunleavy ($10.56 million), T.J. Ford ($8.78 million) and Jeff Foster ($6.66 million) to dangle in trades. That Murphy has an expiring contract worth $11.97 million played a role in the Pacers getting into the four-team deal, enabling them to acquire a much-needed point guard." None of those players come to interest.
10M reasons even if his contract is expiring, injury problems and the guy has been plain overrated since college.
For those of you thinking we don't have enough minutes for all our bigs - do you happen to remember the last time we finished a season without any of our bigs missing significant time? ...or how we have been complaining for years that we only have undersized bigs (outside of Yao)? Can we get through just one season where we don't have to worry about size/depth at the PF/C spot?
Larry can scratch Lance off his list of wings trade bait. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/h..._product_released_after_arrest_for_assau.html Coney Island basketball phenom Lance Stephenson pushed his girlfriend down a flight of stairs and "slammed" her head on the bottom step because she wouldn't take his calls, a family friend said Monday. "He was calling her cell phone," the friend said. "She wasn't answering." Also, Stephenson attacked Jasmine Williams before but her parents kept quiet about the alleged abuse for fear of torpedoing the career of the 19-year-old point guard, who just signed with the Indiana Pacers, the friend said. "This wasn't the first time this happened," said the friend, who works with Williams' dad. "The father spoke to (Stephenson's) parents before. They said we aren't going to call the cops and mess up his career but this has to stop. Enough is enough." Stephenson and Williams, the mother of his child, were high school sweethearts, said the friend, who called the hoops star an immature "goof ball." "What are you doing at 5 a.m. waiting for her to come home?" the friend said. "Don't you have better things to do?"" Stephenson attacked his 21-year-old girlfriend at her Brooklyn apartment building about 5 a.m. Sunday, police said. In a rage, the 6-foot-5 rookie sent his Baby Mama tumbling headfirst down 10 steps, cops said. She was treated at the hospital for injuries to her head and neck. Stephenson's alleged barbarism was unveiled in court papers after he was released on his own recognizance Sunday following a brief appearance in Brooklyn Criminal Court. "While (Williams) was laying at the bottom of said stairs the defendant picked up informant's head and slammed informant's head on the bottom step," the records stated. Williams is now wearing a neck brace and in excruciating pain, the record revealed. Stephenson was hit with felony assault and menacing charges and criminal possession of a weapon, meaning the step. He is due back in court Oct. 19. He was believed to be huddling with his agent, Alberto Ebanks, who represented the teen in his 2008 arrest for groping a girl. A standout at Brooklyn's Abraham Lincoln High School, Stephenson was picked by the Pacers in the second round of the June NBA draft and inked a deal that will reportedly pay him $700,000 for the upcoming season. After the arrest, Pacers president Larry Bird said he was "aware of a situation involving Lance Stephenson" and awaiting an update before making any further statement. It was not Stephenson's first brush with the law. Stephenson, who played one year at the University of Cincinnati before getting drafted 40th overall, had been considered a first round talent but dropped to the second round due to off-the-court issues. Specifically, Stephenson was busted in 2008 for sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl inside of Lincoln High School. That case was resolved when he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. Stephenson was a scoring machine at Lincoln, finishing his high school career as the leading scorer in New York State history. He won four city championships while at Lincoln, making him an heir to the Coney Island hoops tradition established by former NBA star Stephon Marbury and Sebastian Telfair, a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
They do want to acquire a quality big. But that's via their trade assets(expirings). That wing would be Dunleavy Jr., whose a near 11million expiring contract.
why would you give up 2 projects with potential, a PF who's mobile and has length, for a SF who's not going to get more than 15 mins a night and doesnt bring in anything unique?
