some years ago, in his prime Terrell Owens had a lot of athleticism, now not so much, but I think he still has something in the tank.

James White can do a 2-handed windmill and go between the legs from the free throw line

I would have to say Mike Tyson in his prime was a force to be reckoned with. I also would say Hakeem Olajuwon , not only was he a World class Soccer player. He also won 2 back-to-back World Championships our beloved city of Houston.

While at Kansas, Wilt Chamberlain worked out regularly with the track team and supposedly, without any real track and field training, was the best athlete at the high jump, long jump, shot put, discus, and high hurdles. KU's track coach at the time said he would be an Olympic decathlete if he wanted to be. If you want to talk about a freak of nature, relative to his peers and with the training equipment available in his day, look no further than Wilton Norman Chamberlain.

Among people I saw perform in their prime, I would say Bo Jackson by a mile, then Deion Sanders, Dave Winfield (3 sports All American in college, I think), Dr. J, Tony Gonzales (All American FB and basketball), and LeBron.

There have always been some fringe players in the NBA with freakish athecism who never became stars: "Dunkin' Darnell" Hillman, Terrence Stansbury, Kenny "Sky" Walker, and James White come to mind.

I think it would be fun to talk about the worst athlete. George Mursesan, Manute Bol, etc. I vote Muresan.

I second that motion; he was just amazing and a humble guy as well. Earl comes to mind in terms of the combination of speed and brute strength.

I agree, it's easily Bo Jackson. Nobody that big and strong should be that fast.

Here's a good article on "The Legend of Bo". It's an entertaining look at some of the things he did in baseball. What makes it even more amazing is that he was an all-world running back in addition to playing baseball.
