He is being sarcastic as usual, but CH is a bit of a homer IMO. Miller is ok,but he isn't likely to be that productive over 3 yrs. The partial guarantee in the last year could help some along with the others.

I'm glad with the signing! Brad Miller is one of the few Rocket Killers out there. He seems to kill us with his long range jump shots whenever we play him!

I'm confused by this signing. I've seen it discussed for the last several days, but I didn't think they would actually sign Miller. Why not? The Rockets have stated that they need a "Rim Protector" which Miller is not. Miller is not athletic. He does not provide anything above what is given by Scola. I would rather Scola be the back up 5 as oppose to Miller. Does anyone here believe that Miller provides a dimension that is not offered by Scola?

OK, but does that make him a shot blocker? Andersen is 7'0"!

    7 foot?

    Sheesh...

Our shotblocking center is 7'6" and has just had newly installed jets in his robo feet.

More size makes him a better post defender and screener. And he is a much better passer. And he has more range.

I think the signing was a good move. This was a need, and Miller works well with Coach Adelman.

Yeah but would you ever compare Anderson to scola?

Miller was overpaid but 1, it is really not a bad contract; and 2,we were going to have to overpay to get him as he was being flirted by several teams. I am in agreement with who else is now out there that you would want over Miller?

This team needed size in the worst way. Miller is not this Phenom player that some have made him out to be, and the expectations should be tempered, but he should thrive in this system once again. Maybe not at the level of his younger adelman/sactown days, but certainly productive. If. Nothing else he will be a terrific locker room Guy and more importantly a fantastic mentor to hill if the fox are truly grooming hill as a backup center. Most in chi-town credit Miller for Noah's success.

If yao isn't healthy next year no signing will help this team. He is what this year will be determined by.

Don't get past Miller confused with present Miller. He is tough as nails but not a great post defender or have much range, but will be an upgrade over Anderson; which by the way I hope still gets playing time. I like Andersens skill set, he just never found how to display it on the NBA floor on a consistent basis (to put it nicely). If he is not traded I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt and give him one more year before nailing his coffin shut.

God. I love Droid predictive text...

    Rox not fox
If nothing else, not the ridiculous emphasis of "If. Nothing else"
    And Andersen, not Anderson

Andersen is not a grizzled veteran, doesn't know Rick's system as well as Miller, and is just plain weak. Definitely an upgrade, albeit an expensive one...

We had no chance.Whatever we offered, probably the same 5 mil, orlando would have matched it.

Yeah i would have liked Brendan Haywood, but I dont think Haywood would wanna come off the bench behind Yao.

Haywood also got an $8mil/year contract if i'm not mistaken. If that's the kind of money that he was seeking, we could have only signed him through the SnT...highly doubt that the MavPricks would wanna deal with us.

Anyone who thinks its bad to get Miller in is an idiot unless they don't want a win now direction. With our system, he is already proven to be productive in it... hes a vet, he already knows how he can best play the good bigs in the league. I think the main gripe is going to be the amount of $$$ paid for him, if correct we are paying two bench players a combined $12 million I think.

I change my mind, I'm excited to have him.
    Miller, all day................

I'm just messing around about Miller. I suppose after thinking about it, not a bad signing. We needed a decent backup and we got one.

Don't expect any big splash deals... until the trade deadline. After the big FAs are gone, teams don't trade away their star players unless they see in February that they have no hope of getting to the playoffs.
