I was thinking about the active roster limit only being 12 and how many quality guys the rockets have. I counted em up and we have 12 right now. This is only if we do re-sign scola and lowry, which im pretty sure we will. What happens if we get a back up center? I guess we would do it through a trade? I was always thinking we would just sign re sign scola and lowry and then sign someone like Brad Miller and call it a day, but thats not possible, is it?

The active roster is 12. A team can have 15 under contract.

Is #7 intentional, a typo, or a Freudian slip?

Correct. If the Rockets sign B. Miller then players like Jeffries & Andersen will find themselves wearing Armani come game night.

if brad miller is signed and jeffries and the aussie are gone off the 15 that still leaves 13 spots out of 12 active roster spots

Taylor can be sent to the D league again. So can Patterson if he struggles initially. At some point I would see a trade coming and hopefully we send out more then we bring in. C-bud and Hill could too although we know that wont happen.

The moral of the story is, it's good to have depth.

I think Hill, Patterson, and Taylor are our future starting 2,4 and 5. I say put them in suits or send them to the D-league, let them work with CD or Dream all season, and let Taylor work with Calvin Murphy on his handles and shot. They come in game ready next year as a few contracts expire.

i guess one of the guys will always be with the vipers and when an injury happens, just call em up (like landry stated). i guess that makes sense, just sucks for the player it happens to. i mean they get to play but they get away from the real team. when you get sent down to the d-league (rio grande), you arent practicing with the rockets at all right?
