You would think so...If you scroll up, you'd see i didnt bring Kobe in the discussion. Ur buddies did
Raven (the guy you responded to) was talking about LeBron, not Kobe. And "The guy can't win for losing" ... no one is disrespecting Kobe in this thread, as far as I can tell.
Okay, but Kobe was already brought into the thread. Yet u implied I initiated the Kobe talk. Just a rush to judgment on ur behalf. Its cool
You did initiate the Kobe talk. When other people mentioned Kobe, it was in the context of the thread topic -- that LeBron is missing the work ethic and shooting of Jordan or Kobe and that's why he's not going to get much better. You just brought Kobe up, out of the blue, in response to a poster who wasn't even referring to him. That's all I'm saying. No need to roll your eyes.
I don't see Lebron's game evolving much at all. Sure, he has a better feel for the game than he did when he was younger but what offensive moves has he added to his arsenal? His jumper is still streaky, he still has poor footwork and his post game is non-existent. Sure, he is only 25 but he already finished up his seventh season in the league. If he was going to really evolve as a player we would have seen signs of it by now. Much like D. Howard, I don't think Lebron has the physical ability to develop a soft touch or a finesse game. He is very mechanical on the court for a wing player and I think once his quickness and explosiveness is gone that will be more evident. Also, as someone else mentioned, it's about mileage and no 25 year old player has ever had the mileage Lebron has. At 30, he is going to look more like he is 33-34 physically.
Ur contradicting urself. I initiated Kobe in this thread(according to you), but then u mention the context in which "others" mentioned Kobe before I did. Its cool, u just kind of jumped to conclusions
I don't think anyone, LeBron and Kobe included, will ever have anywhere near the numbers Jordan posted in the Finals. Career averages of: 33.6 ppg, 6 apg, 6 rpg, shooting 48% from the field.
depends on where he goes and who he plays with imo, but espn wont care about that theyll make him the 'king' of every player of all time if he wins 1 ring.. if he plays with Wade, Lebron will be Pippen to Wades Jordan.. If Lebron plays with Bosh he'll have the leading role and even more hype (if thats even possible)
Its only a contradiction if your mention of Kobe was in response to those "others", and it wasn't. Also, those others weren't taking a topic about one player, flipping it around, and making it about Kobe. That's what you did. Look, you made a simple mistake with regard to Raven's post and its really not that big of a deal. You don't need to jump through these semantic hoops (Kobe's name was mentioned, so the thread is partly about him) to redeem yourself. A simple "Oops." would suffice.
It doesn't matter if he's still only 25 years old. Lebron got some major mileage on him. I mean he's one of the top players in the NBA and a future HOF. But no one can predict what he will be like 5-8 years from now. I mean his athleticism will decline big time one day because of the beating he takes night in and night out. I think when Lebron athleticism declines and his game changed because of that, he wouldn't be as good as Kobe or Jordan just because Kobe and Jordan has that polished post game. But Lebron would be an amazing distributor. Only time would tell the outcome of Lebron's career. Who knows, maybe a major injury would hit him and stunt his growth as a player. Look at Tmac for example. When he was 25, he was considered one of the best player in the league and has future HOF written all over him. Everyone predict that he will be one of the greatest player of all time because he was so good. But out of nowhere, injuries took over fast and his career took a different path then it supposed to. The way Lebron attacks the basket and his explosive dunks is a big heavy burden on his knees. Even if he is a big strong monster, his knees can only take so much. But anyway, if Lebron really want to team up with Wade and Bosh in order for him to win championships, he wouldn't be considered one of the greatest any longer because he need to ride along with 2 other stars to win it all. It would go down as Lebron can't win by himself. That's why I think it is important that he stays in Cleveland and bring them the trophy. But if he ditches out on them and left them hanging, he will always receive criticisms for the rest of his career. All great players dealt with ups and downs in their career. If Lebron leaves Cleveland because he gave up, then he wouldn't be considered as one of the all time greats.
no doubt lebrons legacy was on his mind, few things i would think about if i wanted to go down as the g.o.a.t. quick question first, if everyone on your team new your mom was getting passed around and no1 told u would u stick around town? even if you also havent won in 7 years and the organization just couldnt deliver the peices? and you had a chance to join wade and bosh and become a dynasty? just saying... ok so kobe didnt get put in the same sentence as jordan until he won without shaq, he has 5 now and hes getting the g.o.a.t. conversations even though 3 were with shaq and 2 with a stacked current lakers team... its a team sport... lebron is 25, he might be able lead the heat to win 3-6 with this heat team and be 31 yrs old when thats all said and done if things go the way he wants them to, then lets say he goes on and wins 2 or 3 more on his own since he didnt have to carry a team by himself for the last 6 years and still has a few years in his legs... u dont think he at least gets put in that conversation? ur crazy its about winning and it looks like a hell of a plan to me he just set himself up to be put in the conversation until he has some rings on his hands none of this even matters though the rings will determine his legacy... period.
he was the best player in the game for many years---even teaming up with all-NBA PG in Penny Hardaway in Orlando---but could not win the ring. Even teaming w Kobe, Shaq could not win a ring. the first 3 years of playing together, Shaq/Kobe could not win the WC, not until the arrival of HoF coach Phil. Without Kobe and Phil, as well as DWade and Riley, Shaq could never have won a ring.
