Oof, the Nuggets? That could be worrisome.

HoopsWorld is not HoopsHype (which is blocked).

This guy is just one more major injury away from being a big disappointment. Do not want.

No surprises here. After all, Kahn did basically say keeping Jefferson is not option A, and that he prefers a Love/Darko frontcourt over Love/Jefferson.

Why bother requesting a trade? The team is already falling over backwards to dump you and your contract.

Maybe he should make it worse and demand a trade and make it seem like there's a major fallout between him and management. That will probably lower his trade value, hence the wolves will pretty much get a bag of chips in return.

Not that it matters. Wolves will always suck even if they get Bosh for him.

    Saving face?

In any case, count me as someone who would strongly consider adding this guy. I know he has an injury history, but he has also been a 20/10 guy over the last three seasons. He played 76 games last year. He also has a big contract. It all comes down to what we have to give up for him.

    Jefferies
    Hill
    Anderson

    for

    Jefferson

If that is the deal, than you would have to take it. You are basically giving them cap space, a young guy with upside, and a couple of servicable big men to bring off the bench before their contracts expire. I would try like hell to avoid adding Bud to that deal, but if I were Minn, I would try really hard to get him included.

Of course, Minn. will likely ask for a first rounder as well. Then you have a decision to make, but all the reports I have been hearing is that if Minnesota can get Milicic they will be happy and would move Jefferson for very little. It seems as if they want out from under his contract over the next three seasons.

Hoopshype has never been blocked. Hoopsworld is the source of the Rocket Guy articles.

I meant to add this above:

    PG: Brookes/Lowry
    SG: Martin/ BUD
    SF: Battier/ Ariza
    PF: Scola/ Patterson/ Hayes
    C: Yao/ Jefferson/ Hayes

That is a very sold and VERY DEEP team.

Exactly what I was thinking. Kahn will give him away to anyone who will offer anything of value at all in return at this point.

...by problem with Kahn is he screws himself so bad the way he goes about his business. Seems like he devalues the assets he has by his meddling. Don't collect a bunch of bigs and THEN try to trade your star big because then teams know you HAVE TO move them. You can't move on while you have the player on your roster because teams smell the desperation. Same thing with the Rubio/Flynn thing last year. No one offered Kahn what Rubio was worth because teams KNEW he had to move a PG or risk losing Rubio to Europe and it happened.

It would be outright dumb to pay Al Jefferson $12k to sit on the bench. He would likely play the PF spot in that scenario but honestly, I don't think Houston will be that high on him unless he could be had on the super cheap and I don't know if Jefferson is worth being way into luxury tax land.
