And my question aside from the fact that Lowry cannot start with Yao (DD's rants here are completely accurate) is why would Farmar bother being the backup with the Rockets as opposed to the Lakers? They have a better likelihood of winning another ring and can pay him more, and ultimately it's the team he's played for all these years.
NO NO NO!!! the problem is he tries to play like hes the best player on the team... he actually thinks hes better than Kobe at times.
Not to mention that the lakers are in need of point guard since fisher has 1 more year in him to start. Farmer will get more playing time next season and who knows he might even start for the lakers in couple of years.
nooo he is a scrub and i dont know why evrybdy doesnt mind trading brooks when really he is an allstar
You are correct sir. Wouldnt be a bad back up for Scola (if we dont get Bosh) if the price is right as that one dude said.
As I understand it, I do not believe the trade proposal in the OP works under the CBA. It's my understanding that you cannot trade away draft picks in successive years. The trade as proposed has us giving up the #14 pick this year, and our 2011 pick (which is subject to an option to swap spots with the Knicks; it is the Knicks' 2012 pick we own, not 2011). That said, even if the 2012 pick is in the deal rather than 2011, not clear whether this trade makes us better, because I think it depends on who we are able to sign as a free agent (and whether we would have any cap space to do so).
You can't trade successive future 1st-rounders; what you did last year has no impact. The 2011 pick is one we're picking up in his first proposed trade.

He's following Ariza's footsteps. The Rockets will now get Jordan Farmar and Kyle Lowry will go to the Lakers.
Additionally, I don't believe you are able to sign a player just to complete a sign and trade - only one player is allowed to be resigned in such a deal.
