There are probably a few players who might slide to the 2nd round. If we're talking about a guy who would go 2nd round or might not otherwise get drafted, then Marque Blakely is the guy. The Rockets have him coming back for a second workout (maybe it's already happened; I read it somewhere and have since forgotten). Blakely won't score outside of sick-a$$ dunks, but he averaged four assists and used that freakish wingspan to play hellacious D at the college level. We need a guy like that on the team. I wouldn't mind trading some of these players we have to put us in a position to draft both higher than 14 and in the 2nd round (as I said, several high-quality players are likely to slide for no better reason than, say, being 6'8" instead of 6'10", etc). Won't do much for continuity but neither does having to re-insert a 7'6" dude in the lineup. Adelman adjusts pretty well between styles of play in any case.
PF/C Keith "Tiny" Gallon: 6'10 | 7-5 wingspan | 9'2 standing reach | 01-18-91(3rd youngest player in the draft) Gallon was one of the top front court prospects from the 2009 H.S. class. and shows some promise for a second rounder. Also his from Humble, TX, right outside of Houston, TX (It would be nice to develop a home town kid). http://www.nbadraft.net/players/tiny-gallon <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/o1Qb18mSdb8&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/o1Qb18mSdb8&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> --RB
You are right about this guy. The only knock on him is he played against inferior competition in college.
Jarvis Varnardo is a freak of an athlete and would be a great 2nd round get to improve our defense off the bench.
Willie Warren, Jordan Crawford, James Anderson, Devin Ebanks, Terrico White, Varnado, Shved (though he probably will opt out), Latavious Williams, Lance Stephenson, Vasquez and Randle.
Greivas Vasquez will definitely be a contributer in his first season! I have a good feeling about him as a Rocket. A third PG would'nt hurt at all. I am almost willing to bet that he will be on our team.
