Bringing LeBron here would give birth to an onslaught of bandwagon "player" fans (people who are fans of players instead of actual teams...similar to Kobe stans). No thanks. Ain't gonna happen anyway.
I understand your point about team chemistry, and I agree that too often people don't consider it as important as they should, and look only at acquiring star players in hopes of winning a championship. But having great players does matter, and Lebron James is about as great as they come. He is a difference-maker. One thing we've learned about the Adelman and Morey is they know how to build a team that plays well together, the right formula for a championship -- given enough talent. That's where attempting to bring in a player of James' caliber, or Bosh's caliber, comes in. The key in my mind is not gutting the team to get him. I don't want the Rockets to have a few superstars surrounded by mediocre role players. It's more important to me that they be deep at every position.
If malone doesnt get hurt vs the spurs, they beat detroit. Not to mention malone and payton split the mle. They were both free agents and when they were all together, they were rolling.
All those guys you mentioned were either past their primes and everyone knew it...or just not anywhere near Lebron's level. Mo Williams...Caron Butler? I mean those guys have made a all-star game or two, but they are not a lock to get in every year. They are not 2x MVP with the defensive team awards also. Team chemistry is important in the playoffs, not so much the regular season not when you have all that talent. If you remember, all those teams you mentioned coasted through the regular season, it's only when they play a team like the Celtics or that Pistons team with perfect chemistry do they start to show their weakness. I'd take Lebron, Adelman is a great coach, he'd get the chemistry working.
imagine what if we didn't turn down the Scola/Battier for Amare trade we'd still have enough for a sign n' trade max wing player LeBron/J.J. (not saying we have a shot @ LeBron but we have enough assets to trade)
Amare sucks. More importantly he didn't work out well with Shaq, and he had steve nash distributing the ball. It looks like Amare doesn't even create for himself anymore, he just takes the spoonfed pass from Nash and finishes it.
Being i want to see the Rockets actually win a championship, i'll pass on Lebron. Plus who knows how much his sore elbow will hurt him in future playoff series
