2 future HOF, 2 league MVPs, 2 guys who stand out(literally) head and shoulders above the rest of the NBA. Hmmmmmmmmmm?

I'll vote off Duncan out of pure bias.:D

I voted already so I won't change mine but to add to the Russell discussion,,,,,,,,, Russell would be a power forward in todays game because of his size,,,,,, a Ben Wallace type, if your going to talk about centers whose game would still be great in todays game the 4 remain CHAMBERLAIN, JABBAR, HAKEEM and SHAQ

I forgot to consider that Tim Duncan actually comes from a tropical island, so he probably would win this; maybe I should change too.:D

    Shaq

BTW, using FG% to compare Duncan and Shaq is just as ridiculous as using the # of rings. Shaq's unstoppable down low, resulting in numerous dunks and layups. Do you think if Duncan could get the same amount of dunks/layups, his FG% would be any lower than Shaq's is? Duncan doesn't have the ability(size/power) to achieve this, so its even more amazing that he gets the high FG% that he has using his array of post moves/ bank shots. Compare their PPG, rebounds, blocks, individual achievements, fine...but this is ridiculous.

That's the point, he doesn't get as many dunks and layups, and he doesn't have the ability too, because he is not a gigantic physical freak like shaq. He is probably a better pure basketball player; however, Shaq's brute force efforts are slightly more efficient, fg% -wise. It's a question of whether you prefer form over results, and it is perfectly acceptable to prefer either. It is not invalid to point out that there is a 5-10% or whaever better chance of a Shaq "shot", going in than a Duncan shot, no more or less valid than using ppg, pp48 minutes or whatever. Duncan may be a better pure shooter, but Shaq is more likely to score. I will take more likely to score.

I know he can't shoot free throws.

I'm conflicted. For me this has to be the toughest choice. Duncan is an absolute stud that I would rather have on the Rockets, if I had to pick between the two. Having said that, I've always had a warm feeling for Shaq because of his total respect for The Dream. I'm tempted not to vote at all, like heypartner seems to be doing, but I guess I'll go with the big guy.

Bye, Tim. (This was a fun thread. Thanks! :))

And the winner is: Tim Duncan! Don't look at me, Dick Bavetta was tallying the votes up! ;)

No, I guess Shaq is the winner. It seems there is no way around it folks.

I guess I could always let the voting go on through today...since this is the Final Round. Fellow BBSers Vote! :D

    Shaq.

No one ever says Tim Duncan gets all of his points off of uncalled offensive fouls.
