Right... Look, I was online at all sorts of boards, including the Rockets, before the 99 season. When we got Pippen, everyone was talking championship. In Houston, and in other NBA arenas, they were sold out almost every night. I saw no one even breathe the term "asterisk" until an unpopular team won. You know for a fact that if the Rockets, with Pippen, had won that championship as many of you expected, you would not consider it asterisked. Unless you have documentation to show you were the exception among millions of fans and actually thought the season to be asterisked before it started, just stop it.
Everyone keeps bringing up "clutch", but w/out Shaq, Kobe would be on another second rate team. Its much easier to build around Shaq than Kobe.... clutch or no clutch.
Oh alright, sorry for overreacting. There have been some people here to make that claim before, so I wasn't sure.
yeah, i originally mistyped my first post, than i misread it and posted again... my bad. i edited my post and its stands as is. that was my reason to vote out TD, based purely on rings. sure shaq and kobe have each other and will naturally win more... but this is the way i choose to place my vote, based on rings. sorry 'bout the confusion.
Is Kobe really all that much more dominant than the remaining shooting guards and small forwards in the NBA? No. Are Shaq and Duncan that much more dominant than the remaining power forwards and centers in the NBA? Definately yes. Goodbye, Kobe.
Call me a Spurs hater, but I say Duncan. For a legit reason: If I get to add one player to the Rockets, would it be Duncan, or Shaq. I'd pick Shaq, so that is why Duncan, you are off the island!
As much as I hate to do it, I choose Kobe. He's going to have to become Jordon-like before I could ever choose a talented small over a talented big.
