What if Morey traded our pick for lets say a above average role player that we could use.

We are chalk full of role players.

I would trade the pick in a package deal for an All star.

For a good, young player yea. most likely a center or a SG.

We don't need role-players. Our entire Roster is comprised of role-players.

If there's a good enough player, there wouldn't be any reason to not do it.

    What if? What if?

Name a player so there is a chance to weigh the pros and cons. For example, what if Morey traded the 14th pick for DeAndre Jordan? What if Morey traded the 14th pick and Jermaine Taylor for the rights to Cole Aldridge?

DeAndre Jordan? Why would we trade a first round pick for a scrub?

Don't ask me. Ask Morey. I was only providing some "what ifs" to a very oblique question by the op.

Morey is a solid manager, just let him do his job.

I anticipate Morey trading most of our picks with player(s) to obtain an almost top notch player(s). I don't expect to see James, Bosh, Amare or Wade in a Rocket's Uniform, just my guess! :p

Chock full. Chalk was this stuff we used to write on blackboards with... blackboards were... like those big dry-erase boards they have at the front of school classrooms these days. Except you used chalk to write on them.

It has to be the draft pick and probably more because we need to add a star player. Not another role player.

Budinger+Hill (2 young assets)+Jeffries+Ariza +2010 lotto pick for Andre Iguadola.

    Horrible idea.

I wouldn't even give that up for Bosh.

Reeko- I think Ariza is a negative and that we would be paying a bit extra to get rid of him. And yea, maybe that is a bit heavy.

I just want another SF to start alongside of Brooks/Martin. I don't think Ariza or Battier are that guy.

Do you mean trading a lotto pick for a Battier type player?

    Been there, done that. PASS!

    Why more Wings?

We need a Dominate Post Player/Rebounder like Bosh.

Ariza is serviceable and young. Battier is headed out for a pick IMO.

I am liable to be unhappy if we trade the pick, unless we either end up with a higher pick, or package it to get an all-star. I'm going to be unhappy if we trade down.

I will be unhappy until the beginning of the season, when I find out that DM knew what he was doing all along.

Like RocketMania1991 said, we have enough role players. We don't need to trade the pick for somebody else at the level of Ariza, or even Marcus Camby. Like DM said on the radio the other day, we need all-stars, and this pick is something that we can package for one. You don't get an all-star by trading, say, Battier, Ariza, Lowry, and Chuck Hayes. You have to have some exciting pieces in there, like AB plus Martin for a Joe Johnson-type deal. For instance.

or why not just sit out all next season that idea has to be one of the worst we can get AI with jeffreis contract and a 2nd round pick alone jeffreis expires next year so he will be valuable

Im pretty sure Jeffries +a 2nd round pick would not net AI?
