Why do people still use team success to measure individual greatness is just beyond me. Kobe couldn't do jack without Shaq or Pau.
He's already the greatest of all time. If he gets #5, then he will have sealed his status of Greatest of All Time for all eternity.
Its actually 1. Dylan 2. Dylan 3. Dylan 4. Dylan 5. Dylan Cuz he spits hot fire. <object width="500" height="405"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ixNY6oFXXTc&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ixNY6oFXXTc&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500" height="405"></embed></object>
No, that will not make him the GOAT. Not even close. Well, he's probably borderline top 10, so I guess that's somewhat close. I would still put him behind MJ, Magic, Bird, Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Tim Duncan, and of course, Hakeem.
Why are there no threads popping up and asking the question, if Tim Duncan wins #5, does that make him the GOAT? Why aren't we hearing more people arguing for him as the best player in the history of the league. He and Kobe have been in the league about the same length of time, and I would say that for all but 2-3 of those years, I would have put TD ahead of Kobe. TD is a multiple time MVP, three-time Finals MVP, has made the playoffs every year of his career (almost always advancing past the first round), and has been the anchor of the best defensive team of the past dozen years.
cuz duncan had robinson, parker, ginobili, and thugs like Robert Horry and Bruce Bowen..... Kobe had to deal with Rodmonivic, Vuacic, Derek Fisher and some soft bigs
lets not forget shaq is pretty decent too and I'm pretty sure he's looking for #5, obviously he won't be the center piece on the team that wins it but so what, you can't say it was all Russel for all 11 rings.
And Kobe never won with those guys. He won when had prime Shaq, whom alone was worth a washed up Robinson, Parker, and Manu. He has Gasol. He has Odom. He had Horry too, and a younger one that. But somehow Kobe's a better player because his supporting cast was worse for a 3 year stretch where he accomplished nothing. So, uh, no. I'll be generous and say Kobe's a top 10 player, but better than Jordan? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The GOAT is Hakeem Olajuwon. That '94 team had ONE All-Star. We will never see somebody of that size do the things he did ever again. **** the media, they don't know ****.
It took me a while to figure why you threw in KG there. Then I saw the other Magic out there. That's gold.
