"Regarding the Suns' recent trade discussions involving him, he said: "The same situation may happen this summer. I guess it was between Cleveland and Miami, the two teams that were really trying to get me. It didn't happen, so I'm here with the Phoenix Suns, so we're going to ride with that. Next year I'm not sure if I'm going to be here or not. Right now I'm here, and we're doing great. We're not going to let anything distract us right now."

nows its really obvious he doesnt like Houston. He completely blew off our deal that gutted our future with the huge proposed deal of battier/scola/our 2010/ny 2011 wow. Rockets have been trying to get him for 2 years and he doesnt even mention us.

    NEXT!!!!

So Shaq is let go by the Cavs and they go for Amar'e? Dam thats actually VERY good for the Rox, if it happens, as James would probably stick around.

I knew Amar'e wasn't hot for Houston, and also didn't see how he would end up here as those other teams really are his top choices (Miami, Cleveland, and probably New York . . . if another superstar goes there).

It was entirely fantasy to expect him to come here, like other posters have mentioned . . . the Rockets have never really signed any big name free agents or received good to great players near the end of the careers. A quality power forward will probably come in the form of a draft pick or unexpected trade (not involving Amar'e or Bosh).

There's too much money out there for us to get a talent, like that this year.

i'm not sure why you'd scratch him off based on that quote...he didnt say he wouldnt come here or that he'd only pick between those two teams...he said he guesses it's going to be between those two since those are the teams who seemed the most interested.

He'd definitely take us to the next step. We'd be unstopabble offensively. Defensively, one would wonder if we'd have enough defensive players / specialists (if we retain Battier, Hayes, Ariza, Lowry) to get the job done. But there is no denying with a healthy Yao, Amare, Martin, Brooks, we'd definitely be a contender. That being said, I wouldnt sell the farm for him. But if all he costs is Jeffries, our 1st this year, and Buddinger, and if Bosh is truly unavailable, then I'd have to seriously consider Amare.

Phoenix offered us Amare for Scola/Battier/Cook and picks so it's pretty normal for Amare to not mention us while talking about teams trying to acquire him.

He doesn't wanna come here because he would actually have to play defense... go figure.

    Exactly.

I don't know what gave the OP the impression that Amare had ruled out coming to Houston, since the article doesn't say that.

i didn't read the article, but the quotes the OP posted did not suggest amare "scratched" us off the list.

step up your reading comprehension OP.

WTF? Can some of you not read? He's referencing the two teams that were most frequently rumored to be interested in trading for him up to the deadline. That's all it is. Why would you expect him to mention Houston, given that there was virtually no Stoudemire/Rockets trade talk other than the one blurb from ESPN that came after the deadline? This quote doesn't suggest anything in the slightest about his thoughts on Houston.

i heard on the radio that phoenix shopped a'mare to us and that we considered it but backed out because they wanted to waive the physical. so in a sense, he's right that we didn't want him that badly.

I still don't like Stoudemire because of the rookie rivalry between him and Yao. I'll be happy to never have him in a Rockets uni.

My god what will it take for you to understand that he has no interest in Houston?
We've been chasing him for 2 years and he has never ever recognized us!

Just accept that certain players don't like it here and get over it!

that's not the point. he quoted the article that did not hint at that notion at all. the title is misleading.
