Apparently, all the rumors about Baron not wanting to sign a long term deal with the Hornets and wanted a trade to a bigger market team were in fact, just rumors. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/news/2002/07/30/burns_davis/
Yeah he saw Miller signing w/ the Clips, he knew Chicago wasn't really interested since they have Jay, and the Knicks were never a real possibility b/c of their cap situation. Oh well, he has to settle for a team that has made it to the second round of the playoffs 2yrs in a row.
Baron always wanted to go to LA (remember how psycho we thought he was when he begged the Clips to draft him?) Now that the Clips got Millertime and Chicago and NY are not realistic possibilities, he might as well re-sign with New Orleans. Good, we don't need any more all-stars coming over to the West.
Yeah, I figured it would be a matter of time until Baron resigned after Miller got traded to the Clippers. Baron was probably holding out to see if he could force that trade. Now that Baron has signed his contract it sets the precedent for what Steve Francis will be making on his next contract extension this summer. Chris
