One thing is for certain. If you want to criticize the effort or consistency McGrady has shown since his return you can't support Ariza's effort or consistency without losing your credibility.

Just to use someone's post to tag this along with

    S. Battier Rockets 1,909 -1,926 -17 938:45 -.018 29
McGrady entire season total, -2. That means he was a +6 before tonight. Mostly helped out by his 1st game back. Trending a little downward but overall kinda neutral and too small a sample size IMO cuz the next game he can be back over easily. His health getting better, effort not. Another neutral.

Ariza is the standard of neutral, 2,245 team points scored, 2,245 team points given up. Brooks also the same ZERO +/-

We'll ignore who's at the bottom. Keep in mind they play tougher opposing players than the players up top, though so does Chuck Hayes...No wonder people say our bench is better than the starters

Tmac may be not that good yet. But look at the one that starts for the team: 38.2% FG, 32.6% 3p, and 65.3% ft. This man plays 38.9 minutes a game. Yet Tmac gets only 7 minutes a game. I don't see how things could be any worse if Tmac plays more time.
The team is still ok now, but not because of Ariza. It's because of the upgraded Landry, Brooks, Budinger, etc.

I hardly reply to comments, but you are delusional and I do not mind wasting 5 minutes to let you know this. Perhaps my response will help you to seek psychotherapy.

in point 1) he was saying he was working hard all summer and the fact that he is back early is a testimony of how hard he has been working. And 2) yes he does want to help himself get another contract... is that so bad? You act as if making or trying to make money is such a terrible thing. Why can't you try to both make money and help your team? He never flat out said hey i need to play even if it ruins team chemistry. I need another contract.

Your assumptions sound ridiculous and you are reading way way too much into his statements... Take his statement for what it is and stop trying to read his mind. If you need a psychiatrist or psychoanalyst I could probably refer you to one.

Nice to see you come around, Dave. :) At least there's one other person that realizes just how sad it is to watch Ariza suck at basketball for 40 minutes every blessed night and then afterwards listen to people dissect McGrady to death because he wasn't jumping up and down for joy after watching helplessly as his team got mauled in the process. This BBS is full of hypocrites. At least I can respect you Dave for always being consistent with your arguments, even if I haven't always agreed with them (and I find myself agreeing with you a lot more lately).

Ariza has sucked, no one is disputing that.

Both Tmac and Ariza have sucked...one does not negate the other.

I think the logical conclusion to this is, we need to give JT more time. Instead of arguing about if T-mac needs more time

Just to point out this is statistically meaningless in McGrady's case. He's played to few minutes, so if you calculated confidence it would be extremely low. It's like if he had only made a single shot and missed it, and you went on about how he has a 0% shooting percentage.

wouldn't von have to "earn" his playing time? he couldn't even make it in greece, and now just failed his physical due to an injury. i mean, it's a NEW team right? you have to EARN your minutes. they're not given to you.

    something DD always proclaims

Did Ariza have to earn his minutes when he came here? Will Yao have to earn his?

trevor ariza certainly didn't. his play does not equate to 35+ minutes of play. so no, not really.

and DD, i hope tracy gets traded soon just so you can regain your sanity. you're a good poster when you're sane, but just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out there when you're not.

and we can resume talking how ariza sucks on a nightly basis, rather than putting tracy under a microscope like he's god.
