As a huge fan of Carl, i can't help but think of what it would be like to have a player of Carl's direct bloodline who seems to have the same work mentality, almost identical jumping ability, a better jump shot, and better handles. But Marcus has aimed his game at more of a sf/pf type player, as opposed to carl's pf/sf approach(although now carl is a set pf). There have been alot of trade talks about the rox and knicks lately and i cant help but think how great it would be to have marcus and carl on the same team(talk about chemistry). I know it may be a longshot, but you cant help but think that les and dmorey wouldnt be interested in a player that shares sooo much resemblance to a player that has proven themselves with such tenacity as Carl. (they even look and sound alot alike). I kno this is just speculation, but tell me its not kinda fun to think about..... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1jstk2Tmqxs&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1jstk2Tmqxs&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nXzz3GJgozw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nXzz3GJgozw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4jzEJZUvAzY&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4jzEJZUvAzY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qz-SyHPJFcI&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qz-SyHPJFcI&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bSj3WYUnFS8&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bSj3WYUnFS8&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> in this last video marcus' voice is almost identical to carl's..
lol our landry of course! and what i meant to say in my other post was that carl is a lot more talented
I understand, when i was typing out this thread i had to correct myself several times for refering to carl as landry. I think athletically there isnt much difference. I dont see why marcus cant be a successfull player in this league. Carl would be the absolute best you could ask for, but thats not what im trying to imply.
Marcus Landry is an undrafted inactive player on the Knicks roster. I doubt he'll turn out to be an Anthony Morrow like steal.
the slow replay is killing me... i dont have the patience In theory they should genetically be similar. According to simple Mendelian inheritance patterns his brother has a 25% chance to get the same athletic traits as Carl. However, if our GM pick players according to there blood lines we would be in a whole mess of trouble. For example the Jordon boys and Tmac's little brother? amazing blood line, but not so amazing bballers.
If we had the Landry brothers on one team... I think I would cream my pants. Then when/if LeBron signs to Houston... I will cream my pants again.
If there was a just single gene that covered athleticism, and that gene was one of simple dominance with good athleticism being recessive, and with both parents being heterogenous for the trait?
Jermaine Taylor's a better player, quite simply. Remember that Carl/Aaron didn't get immediate minutes like Chase is when they were rookies. In fact, Aaron didn't really crack the regular rotation until very late his rookie season, if not his second year. Writing off JT already is ridiculous. Marcus Landry wasn't drafted at all, either. He played for the Kings in the Summer League. He paid for his own way to NYC to try out with the Knicks and, amazingly, stuck. I'm excited for him and I hope he's successful, but come on, he hasn't done anything yet and a not-so-great team (of course, neither has their lottery pick Jordan Hill). So no, you don't have to wonder why we took Taylor and not Landry. Also not that we drafted Budinger after both Taylor and Llul. Will Marcus Landry become a better player than Taylor? Due to their age discrepancy, abilities, and record, it's very unlikely.
Our starting Center was undrafted are you discriminating against undrafted players like the ChuckWagon and Marcus 'don't call me Carl' Landry?
Taylor was a miss. He isn't an NBA player. Marcus Landry is on a roster on sure determination. If you put Marcus Ladry's heart and work ethic into Jermain Taylor then you'd have a guy who could contribute. Taylor will go the way of Dorsey.
