Here's what we know... -Tracy claims he's ready/hungry -Morey and Adelman don't want to rush him back unless they are absolutely sure that he is ready to come back and contribute. -prospective trade partner GMs are watching and Dec 15 is approaching so, there are only 2 logical ways to explain McGrady's sudden return: 1) We are showcasing him, even though he's not 100% ready, to other GMs because it was their request to see him and evaluate whether he can even contribute on the court anymore. 2) McGrady has been healthy or near 100% and Morey/Adelman were holding him back because they wanted to motivate/unleash his hunger to play, and therefore try to instill the 'fire' McGrady has been missing. In addition, they did not want to mess with the great team chemistry. My thoughts are that while Morey is shrewd person and overall guru of a GM, Adelman seems to be the type that is a no-drama straight forward person. So if McGrady was ready to play, Adelman would've worked him into the lineup sooner, rather than deploying this 1hr before gametime announcement. Also, Adelman specifically said that he will play Mac a certain amount, regardless of how he performs. These all point to logic #1. Regardless of the outcome, I am extremely excited to finally see McGrady return to the court. I don't like him as a player and don't think he's part of the new Rocket direction, but all these months of anticipation and clicking through countless hate/love threads have me giddy... All true Rockets fans should wish him the best performance... because whether we like him or not, it's the best scenario for the Rockets.
its more like .90 % chance he gets traded tomorrow. you think a team will trade for him after 7 min of play, he will stick with the team till the end of the season if he does well, he will be traded if he does mediocore and someone still wants him.
Just an observation during warmups....T-Mac was most of the time by himself shooting and not really communicating with the rest of the players.
I called it. I clearly stated that if DD continues to stay off the Wagon, McGrady will play. How ironic.
