wow man im suprised, but if he connected that would have been terrible, could have caused lots of problems with vision and cerebellar function. def a few games of sitting at home for mr ariza. i hope ariza apologizes in the next time hes with the media

Even so, penalty has to be assessed on intention. It wouldn't make sense to suspend someone for less games just because they missed.

If they deem it intentional, I expect Ariza to miss a lengthy portion of time...
If not, then maybe a couple games.

Unfortunately, it looks pretty intentional to me...

the nba usually gives 1 for a swing that doesn't land, maybe 2.

Looked like an "aww shucks" moment and DeMar just happened to be there. Wrong place, wrong time. 1 game is enough.

Ariza was 0-9 from the floor, not surprising that he missed that elbow. gotta love jack!

and like i mentioned in the post gam thread, ariza also gave an elbow to Andre last game on a fastbreak...i think he's just getting hit himself alot more this year as a "go to" player, more than ever before, so it's getting to him and he's taking it personally rather than just letting it go and accepting it's part of being in this role..Hopefully he'll learn with time

and he should get one less game than if he had not been ejected..usually if you're ejected they take it a bit easier, especially since in this case i think an ejection was a bit excessive.

That's uncalled for and definitely deserves a suspension of 2 games.

Ariza needs to relax and understand his role. He is not a star in the NBA yet. He's got the green light to shoot only because the Rockets lack offensive options at the moment. If he lets that get to his head then someone needs to give him a pat talk.

I agree. I'll be surprised if it's for less than that. Ariza was freakin' lucky he didn't connect with that elbow.

First time as a Rocket, yes; first time as a NBA player, no.

Well, I'm disappointed in Trevor. He had an off night, but that is no reason to get emotional like that. I truly believe that he wasn't trying to hit DeRozan in the head and was simply thrusting his arm out in frustration, but regardless, it is still an inappropriate move.

1 game at least. He needs to cool down and think things over. An apology would help ease the sentence.
