I know, I know - the numbers shouldn't matter, but Louis Scola is close to averaging a double-double so far this season. Will the fact that he played about a half a minute on Sunday and recorded zero points and rebounds be calculated nito his average? Doesn't really seem fair.
I know, I like to follow the numbers too...kinda sucks, but, overtime games stats count too, so it will even out. DD
I was looking at the box score and he had 0 minutes so I wondered if that would count as a game played?
I thought for sure they count the game played but our very own Clutch does not have him playing in 17 games only 16......strange.....gonna check ESPN to see. Yep, his true stats show it as a game played. The clutchfans stats are wrong. Dang it ! DD
The ironic thing is that here we are, worrying about his numbers, when the person who probably cares least of all about stats is Scola himself. He's all about playing hard and winning.
This underscores why its more useful to look at MPG and per-minute production independently, rather than looking at per-game production.
I'm glad they counted it as a game played, because now Scola can still claim that he's never missed a game. 82 of 82 in year 1. 82 of 82 in year 2. 17 of 17 in year 3.
All it takes is two games with 15 boards and 2 games with 21 points for him to recoup the stats lost in that game.... it's not a big deal at all.
not direct hate but... 1. could Scolas numbers take a hit 2. could Scola be the next on the trading block 3. etc...
For people that knows and care Yes. For people that are trying to sell the game and hype players... none. Would be the same like asking them to look at points per shot instead of FG% or total points.
