If we give them Brooks, we better get back Thompson/Hawes and a 2nd round pick.

Well, you clearly feel strongly about this rumor one way or the other. You've posted twice as much as anybody else in this thread. You've also been repeatedly stressing Martin's weaknesses.

That one is a tough choice. There is no question McGrady is a better basketball player than Martin, but he is after microfracture and we don't know what to expect.

But Martin in my opinion is overrated. Why?

    1) He is injured as well
    2) He is a ball stopper
    3) He likes to jack up 30+ shots a game, usually those are not good shots
    4) I don't think he cares about winning just yet. He wants to make himself famous in the NBA first
    5) I haven't heard anything about his passing ability
    6) He is not a right piece for a team which wants to contend next year.

I'd say wait. See what McGrady will bring to the team after the surgery and if that doesn't work out well, trade him at the trade deadline.

Brooks is the most untradebale player we have currently. adlman loves him and he is quickly becoming a star. it's gotta be an very good deal for us to part with brooks

you put manu ginobilli on the kings and he would 27+ ppg.

they both play un-orthodox style of play and they use angles to get a first step.

    1) manu can't play more than 35 minutes a game to average 27 points
    2) manu is also a playmaker. martin was and never will be one.

    That about says it all.

I don't know how Kevin Martin fits this team better than Tmac. Are we having problems scoring right now? The goal is to win, not just score more points. Has Martin ever been a big scorer on a winning team. I'd rather have a more versatile player like Tmac. But if Morey prefers Martin than so would I.

Sounds possible. The only untouchables on that Kings team would be Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson and Spencer Hawes. They could shed salary and pray a big fish would come down to Sacramento via free agency. Makes a bit of sense. Plus since K-Mart's so injury prone and such, the Kings might want to let go while the value's high. If McGrady can come back at 70%, they're not even losing so much player wise. But I'm sure the Kings would at least want to ask for a 1st rounder in this case.

KMart is as injury prone as Mcgrady.. he's missing 64 games in the last 4 season (not include this season and his rookie season when he's didn't able to get into the squad rotation).. come on man, the main reason why we want McGrady to get traded because he's always injured and have a big big contract.. why would we want to get another star that always injured as well?

I would do it if it was Tmac+JT+Pick for Martin+JT/Hawes+Pick

Hell, i'd even throw Budinger if the pick swap and JT were involved...

However, I wouldn't want Martin on this team. The dude just shoots 30 times per game and would be a ball stopper..

Firstly Manu is one of the most successful basketball players to ever play the game, only guy with a Gold Medal, and NBA championship and a Euroleague title. Please don't compare Martin to him, it's like comparing T-Mac to MJ.

I don't really want K-Mart simply because he doesn't solve our problem which is play-making late in games. I also hate his shooting stroke, even if it is really effective :)

However, with these things in mind it's probably not a bad deal if there's something else in the pipeline...perhaps involving a no-stats All-star?

The Sacramento Bee reported that arounf the trade deadline the Rockets were offering T-Mac to the Kings but it was cut short when McGrady opted for microfracture.
