Thomas (if not traded) C Yao Ming Kelvin Cato Jason Collier Is it me, or is this new team 100 times better than last years. I just wanted to point out how much change the Rocks have gone through in just a couple months. Can't wait for it to begin!!
Yeah you'r right: Starting lineup v. Blazers last game of the season PG Brown SG Torres SF Morris PF Thomas C Cato That team should never EVER be on the same court at the same time again! We've improved at the C, SF, PF (depth wise) so we should be MUCH better. 47-35?
i agree this team has had a huge change in the lineups just by adding two draft picks and getting the injured players back.
The only reason that was our Startin linuep the last day of the season is because we were filling up the tank...
PG Steve Francis Moochie Norris Tito Maddox SG Cuttino Mobley Oscar Torres SF Glen Rice Bostjan Nachbar Terence Morris PF Maurice Taylor Eddie Griffin K. Thomas (if not traded) C Yao Ming Kelvin Cato Jason Collier Kenny Thomas and K. Cato will be starting-- We have depth this year something we obviously did'nt have last year.
And how do you know that? I too, agree that Cato will start, but I'll be surprised if Taylor doesn't start, from everything I've heard he's coming along great.....
Man I love this team, and if the guys take the defense seriously they will be a major player in the West and should secure a playoff berth. Cato, Griffin and Ming's shot-blocking should shore up the help defense and allow for gambling defenses. That's why Cato is so important and the Rockets need to keep him. It's rare to find good shot-blocking big men off the bench, and with this many shot-blockers the Rockets should have at least shot-blocker in the game all the time. Also with Griffin being versatile enough to play some SF, the Rockets could throw a frontline of Griffin, Cato and Ming in at any point. Rudy will have a TON of options!
I would like to see the Rockets pick up a SG more stable than Oscar Torres, we need someone who can backup Mobley without losing too much.
Any idea what the Clipper's depth chart looks like? ???????, McGinnis Richardson, Maggette Odom, Miles Brand, Wilcox, Ely Olowokandi
LA Clippers: PG: McInnis, Dooling SG: Richardson, Maggette, Piatowski SF: Odom, Miles, Piatowski PF: Brand, Wilcox, Ely C: Olowokandi, Rooks, Ekezie In my opinion Rockets only have the advantage at PG with Franchise.. As of right now the clips have a nice lineup, but they have some FA's and they most likely will make a trade. But they are pretty stocked at most positions.
Actually, we have two advantages. The one at PG & the other one is the owner. Les Alexander versus Donald Sterling, Advantage: Rockets I'll bet that our team will be together longer than the Clippers.
I think the Clippers are looking to trade one of their rookie PFs for a PG. McInnis is a FA and it doesn't seem they want to resign him. They are really interested in A. Miller and B.Davis, and B. Davis does not want to play for N.O.
Now the question is, what do we do with Kenny Thomas? He has given us a few good years and now we may get rid of him. We don't have enough cap space to sign him with Francis taking the max. Taylor and Griffin will probably take the wheel at the 4, leaving Thomas out in the cold. What do we do? I mean, how can we let a talent like Kenny slip through our fingers? Is there anyway that we can get compensation for him?
Maybe this next year, the Rockets and Clippers will knock out the Sonics and Jazz. Just think Stockton, Malone and Payton could all go fishing at the same time. I would love to see that happen.
I think a lot of teams like Kenny, but with LA carrying 2 young and big PFs, they have the upper hand. You hate to lose a guy like KT, but if you can get someone you can use, you gotta let him go. I still feel the need for a SG: ERICK STRICKLAND, Boston Celtics Key 2001-02 Stats: 11.7 ppg, 3.1 apg, .434 3FG Analysis: A defensive specialist off the bench who proved capable of providing an outside scoring punch, Strickland logged several 20-point games in 2001-02. Then, after going virtually unused throughout the Celtics' playoff run, he finally got playing time in Games 4 and 5 against New Jersey, contributing 13.5 ppg. Will be a reliable, consistent role player wherever he signs. Sounds like a good fit, a scorer who can play D that is willing to come off the bench.
The Clippers will also play Jaric and Odom at PG. They have very good depth at most of their positions (mainly from all those years of top draft picks) but I'll take the Rockets roster over theirs anyday.
I think the team listed will do really well...whenever you can have 14 guys on a depth chart for a sport with 12 man rosters. Seriously, the team is much improved and I can't wait til they tip it up.
