no he wants people to compare him to all players and not just white players, therefore he made it clear that it was acceptable to compare him to a black player even though he is white
Reggie Miller - Yao will become more like Z than we imagine. He will be reduced to setting a thick pick for a thin man on the perimeter, over and over again..... ... ... ... 3
I know what he meant, but he specifically said black players. Therefore, he is on the same level as those who compare Chase to white players. Like the say, small minds are occupied by small things.........like "race" in this instance.
Let's pretend to be all trendy and progressive by putting "race" in quotes! News flash...when the Nba is almost exclusively black and white, when you stop comparing a white player to other white players, you're going to have to compare him to black ones. Are you really that aghast that the OP neglected all three mexicans and asians as topics for comparison?
From what we've seen of Budinger so far, he's demonstrated very good perimeter shooting and overall high scoring efficiency. Here are the top 10 forwards in NBA history in TS%, with at least 500 3-pointers made and who shot at least 37% from beyond the arc for their career. http://www.basketball-reference.com/fc/tiny.cgi?id=CtuqX Code: Rk Player G MP FG% 3P% FT% TS% 1 Chris Mullin 986 32163 0.509 0.384 0.865 0.594 2 Dirk Nowitzki 839 30693 0.472 0.378 0.872 0.581 3 Peja Stojakovic 709 24402 0.454 0.402 0.894 0.58 4 Mike Miller 638 20585 0.462 0.401 0.767 0.574 5 Wally Szczerbiak 651 20052 0.485 0.406 0.86 0.573 6 Kyle Korver 465 12006 0.426 0.404 0.885 0.571 7 Rashard Lewis 777 26855 0.458 0.391 0.808 0.567 8 Larry Bird* 897 34443 0.496 0.376 0.886 0.564 9 Shane Battier 618 20708 0.447 0.388 0.751 0.56 10 Glen Rice 1000 34985 0.456 0.4 0.846 0.554 And for guards: http://www.basketball-reference.com/fc/tiny.cgi?id=Hpiqg Code: Rk Player G MP FG% 3P% FT% TS% 1 Reggie Miller 1389 47619 0.471 0.395 0.888 0.614 2 John Stockton* 1504 47764 0.515 0.384 0.826 0.608 3 Brent Barry 912 23643 0.46 0.405 0.823 0.607 4 Steve Nash 934 29012 0.487 0.432 0.9 0.604 5 Steve Kerr 910 16207 0.479 0.454 0.864 0.593 6 Manu Ginobili 478 13237 0.454 0.376 0.821 0.591 7 Mark Price 722 21560 0.472 0.402 0.904 0.586 8 Hersey Hawkins 983 32034 0.461 0.394 0.87 0.585 9 Leandro Barbosa 422 10918 0.471 0.404 0.824 0.582 10 Jeff Hornacek 1077 33964 0.496 0.403 0.877 0.582 If we narrow the above results to players who are 6'6 to 6'10 (somewhat close to Budinger's size), we have: Code: Rk Player G MP FG% 3P% FT% TS% 1 Reggie Miller 1389 47619 0.471 0.395 0.888 0.614 2 Brent Barry 912 23643 0.46 0.405 0.823 0.607 3 Manu Ginobili 478 13237 0.454 0.376 0.821 0.591 4 Chris Mullin 986 32163 0.509 0.384 0.865 0.594 5 Peja Stojakovic 709 24402 0.454 0.402 0.894 0.58 6 Mike Miller 638 20585 0.462 0.401 0.767 0.574 7 Wally Szczerbiak 651 20052 0.485 0.406 0.86 0.573 8 Kyle Korver 465 12006 0.426 0.404 0.885 0.571 9 Rashard Lewis 777 26855 0.458 0.391 0.808 0.567 10 Larry Bird* 897 34443 0.496 0.376 0.886 0.564 11 Shane Battier 618 20708 0.447 0.388 0.751 0.56 12 Glen Rice 1000 34985 0.456 0.4 0.846 0.554 Please note that I did not select the "white boy" filter in the above search. I see you misunderstood my post.........I found it ironic that the OP wants people to forget about Chase's "race" when comparing him to other players but then, in the same post, spins around and picks a "race" of players he must be compared to. The irony is too sweet to pass up. ********* As for the quotation marks around "race", I don't do that to be trendy. I do that because "race" is nothing more than a social construct that has little biological basis. It fails to take into account a person true ethnicity and classifies them based on a physical feature. As a biology student.......I can't put too much stock into it.
Been watching Cluthfans.net since it was Clutchfans.com (over 10 years now) and dont post much. But that title for this thread was actually pretty funny.
I'd compared him to Rip Hamilton during SL because of the way he was moving without the ball, coming off screens, catching and shooting. Reggie Miller works, too. Whatever, I'm glad he's on our team.
Hahaha. Well done durvasa, I love your stats for everything. Also I'm pleasantly surprised that Shane Battier's in the top 10 all time for that.
