Remember, no PBP in these threads and keep the chatter on topic (if it is about something other than this series, talk about it in another thread). 9-28 Yorman Bazardo, RHP (0-2, 9.55) vs. Cole Hamels, LHP (10-9, 4.11) 6:05 on FSN 9-29 Wilton Lopez, RHP (0-0, 8.44) vs. J.A. Happ, LHP (11-4, 2.79) 6:05 on FSN 9-30 Brian Moehler, RHP (8-11, 5.21) vs. Cliff Lee, LHP (14-12, 3.19) 6:05 on FSN 10-1 Felipe Paulino, RHP (2-11, 6.51) vs. Pedro Martinez, RHP (5-1, 3.32) 6:05 on FSN
OMG...We are getting swept! Unless the Phillies clinch and give there SP a rest and skip them this could get very ugly to watch.
Bazardo has shown nothing at the ML level, but at least he has good AAA numbers, so who knows. I'll hold out hope. Lopez I'm setting the over under at 3IP and 9R. If we don't give up more than 10 runs, I will be stunned. Moehler/Paulino are very hit and miss, so you never know.
The home plate ump may have been influenced by Victorino clamoring that Bazardo balked. Upon replay, JD pointed out that Bazardo stepped off the rubber with his right foot before stepping forward with his left.
I should have known better...shame on me. Baseball is the most unpredictable sport and tonight proves it once again.
Funny thing is that you could see the Stros winning a wild one or maybe Hamels gets hurt something like that but Bazardo giving you that kinda performance is the SHOCKING part of the whole scenrio. Hope this is a turning point for the kid, I guess will see in NY.
Headed to the game Wednesday night. Rooting for the Stros, of course, but it would be cool to see the Phils clinch ... haven't been to a division-clinching game since 1986!
Wilton Lopez exceeded my expectations tonight, but still it was an ugly start, and a very predictable ugly relief appearance by Wright. You just knew he would be pitching tonight because Lopez wouldn't make it far.
Good to see the Sros tanking a little bit. Too bad we aren't bad enough to draft that 16 year old catcher that also have a 96 mph fastball. Can someone tell me what draft position we are now?
Very good news...not only will we have a pretty high pick but considering Val, Hawkins and Tejada could all be gone so we might have a number of early draft picks.
Tejada won't get offered arbitration, so he won't bring anything. Valverde and Hawkins should get offered, and I'd love to end up with some extra 1st round picks because of it. Anybody know when they decide the FA classes?
I would have completely agreed in August but this late surge might make the Stros think twice yet in the long run I believe your right.
If by that you mean type A or Type B it is based on Stats. It will be determined after the season is over but you can already get an idea of were players stand here: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/09/elias-rankings-update-6.html
