I'm thinking that we can't get Bryon Russell because of cap reasons, so .............. I'd look at Mouton from Maryland. He's 6-6, 6-7 and a known defensive stopper.

drpepper-I don't think Mouton is that good of a defender. I also think he's closer to 6-4 than 6-7. rocketteen-Interesting idea. I'd pass though, because Croshere just doesn't fit this team. He'd get 3rd string PF minutes (maybe not even those, with Jeff Foster), and sporadic SF minutes-Rice will get his mins, and Nachbar should be better than him, plus 3 guard lineups, and T-Mo. Not at his salary-especially considering his agent, Dan Fegan. At least with Kelvin, you're paying a large salary for a premium position. I like Foster, though-I think he's a great fit as that big man that plays some D, and rebounds, and doesn't demand much offensively, like a Scott Pollard-type. Not sure what it'd take to get him, though. On another note-the type of defender being talked about is a swingman perimeter defender. Morris is more of a 3/4 defender. We probably will eventually need the type of guy who could make things tougher for the Kobes, TMacs, and Pierces. I think Bryon Russell would be a decent offseason target-we're not close to luxury tax danger, if there even is one this year (most sources are saying there won't be).
Dakota, I would be shocked if KT was at training camp. There is no way that he will look better (trade value) come trading deadline. I know that we cannot trade him, if we give him an extension, until mid-season. So now is the time to trade him. KT requires major minutes and ISO plays to be effective. Both of those requirements appear to be gone next season. Rudy has already stated that he is moving away from the ISO's. Far as minutes, Taylor will only be sitting out 5 games, and the Rockets are not paying him big bucks for 10-15mpg. Eddie Griffin is the future, and I do not see his minutes going down below 20. KT, EG, Taylor all stink at SF and with the addition of Nachbar, we have more then enough SF's on this team. Rudy has already stated that he is not finished this off-season (KT is the odd man out), so one can only imagine what else is up his sleeves.
