Realignment of the bones in his foot sounds like pretty serious surgery, changing the structure of his foot that he was born with. I hope that there were more doctors than Clanton advising him on this. Now when is he expected back, March 2010 or Nov 2010?

I'll take a successful recovery over a speedy one. Just get better, Yao, and I hope and pray that this procedure helps prevent further issues.

Good for him. In the mean time we can give birth to a good center who can later be a good backup for this injury plagued china wall man. Good luck Yao!

Does Yao really have to do his own shopping?

Yao undergoing this experimental surgery proves that he really cares about the team and his career.

Remember his foot doesn't even HURT him right now....and he is going to voluntarily undergo the most extensive option.

What a warrior and I pray for his healthy return and resumption of his career.

exactly... but maybe he was timing it so he would miss the season and not have to play any Chinese national ball either.

WTF?? Dr. Tom Clanton?? Why him? Have he ever done this kind of surgery? Don't freaking tell me Yao wants Dr. Tom Clanton to do this because he's part of the Houston organization/family shiat! Wouldn't you let someone with more experience to do this kind of procedures?

This procedure is dangerous as well. If it doesn't work, his career could be over.
Clanton, said that himself, but the repeated injuries have taken such a big toll, that Yao has no choice.
Get well Yao,we are all pulling for you. Good luck.

I can't say anything about Clanton's abilities, but I wish that someone else would be doing the surgery.
