Drew's a good player. He's also not needed on our team. We don't need any more PF's. We need C's and SG's.
ROFLMAO!! Yep,sometimes he just thinks he's the KOBE BRYANT on the team, and right now he's gonna play alongside Kobe, see how it gonna pan out.
Ron will compete with Kobe on the same team to see who is better. just wait and watch, when u see kobe making a 3, the next possession, Ron will try to do the same thing and miss. Ron is going to be Ron, no doubt. it just a matter of how Kobe would use him and get to him. Can Kobe use Ron to his advantage? that's the key.
The Rockets would really be winners if they can use the MLE in signing a center or a rotational player.
Just a thought, regarding the 'issues' Ron was having here. We all (or most) blamed Tracy for him and Ron not getting along well. Maybe it was more Rons fault than Tracys, which we originally thought. Doesnt really matter since Ron is gone now and Tracy will be gone in a year, max.
Morey's at the level now where NBA analysts just compliment him for his moves even when they don't agree them. Until he stops being money they will continue in this fashion for the foreseeable future.
If Bad Chemistry means not getting booted out in the 1st round . . . I don't wanna have good chemistry Rocket River
apparently they didn't if Rafer was traded and word got out that there was locker room issues. Also it was obvious that he was having issues. Things were going on that never went on b4 he was signed. He is signed and now all of a sudden the Rockets are being talked about a lot more than b4.
touche just the facts: Artest's worst year >>>> Ariza's best year Artest, avg double figures every year for 10 years Ariza has avg below double figures every year for 5 yr simply as that
Yeah, you tell 'em! Because points and simple box score figures are the only way to evaluate NBA players! Signed, Zach Randolph
You know Artest had nothing to do with Houston getting out of the first round, right? Yao and Brooks were the ones who showed up big in the Portland series, while Artest only had like 3-4 good playoff games.
you're dead on. the stats don't tell that Artest presence lifted a team, mired in permanent mediocrity living off the memory of the 2 rings w Hakeem, to advance past the first round of the playoff.
Or you could attribute that to Aaron Brooks' development, Luis Scola's development, Kyle Lowry, Von Wafer, the lack of Rafer Alston, the combination of Yao Ming and Rick Adelman... there were a lot of things different about this year's team than just having Ron Artest.
to say artest didnt help us in the playoffs is crazy. i dont think he scored a ton of points he was solid for us and helped with defense and toughness. sad to see him go but glad to see ariza.
Actually, everyone's right here to a certain extent.... It was Ron. It was Yao. It was Aaron. It was Scola. It was Alston, who was not here to hoist 23 shots a game to have 80% of them run back the other way for an easy layup. But, most of all... It was Morey.... all the pieces came together at the right time so that the role players could have an off game because he brought in so many great pieces that they could step up and pick up the slack. Morey's master plan would have worked if not for the fate of injuries.
I wish I could hire a bunch of little munchkins to start singing the Witch is dead song..... I was never excited about getting Ron Artest and now that he is gone YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
So, at this point do you see it as Donte Green traded for Ariza, or do you see it as a one year rental of Artest?
pau gasol was an all-nba 2nd team last yr. u remember how kobe just treated him like a lil kid during game 3/4 v. us during a timeout. that's pau, an extremely efficient player, making minor mistakes. let's see how kobe and phil go about when ron just dribbles to nowhere and jackup the worst shot you can see. kobe is gonna give him a snarl like he always does to luke or jordan haha
lol Kobe will also have a down year himself the way i see it the lakers have downgraded in 3 positions
