Is there any doubt that the spirit of Stig willed them to victory? :D

    What a great win.

It would've sucked to lose to such a collection of flopping, whining, cheapshotting b****es.

Friedel should have his name officially changed to The Man, Sanneh was great, Mastroeni was good in the midfield, John O'Brien was solid as usual, and played good defense, including the "Hand of J.o.b." in the second half.

True. I also could've mentioned McBride's tireless efforts, the great touch pass by Josh Wolff, and Jones, who came on in as a sub, apparently, so the Mexican team could beat the **** out of him, etc, etc.

All in all, I think everyone, even Berkhalter played a pretty solid game for the US, especially in the second half, when they controlled possession.

This is just too good to be true. Arena is a great coach.

Still, the Germans must be laughing their ... off!

SJC - do you think we can top the Saudi Arabia result?

Keep thinking that it will be a walk over, that is how Mexico and Portugal felt, and we sent them packing.

    Bring on those friggen Krauts..

WOW I'am stunned! Great strategy by the US and stuck to it! Mexico was confused by that formation the US put on.

Yeah Yeah Mexico plays dirty and flops, everyone knows that BUT I wont mention that clear hand in the goal area that should have been a penalty kick for Mexico. That could have changed things.

Great game anyways, but the US has Germany next. Very tough but theyve beaten the odds already.

Hmm...I think we will have to beat Spain in the Semis, that should be possible...but Brazil or England in the finals will be a tough nut to crack.

Wow...all you early morning watchers got my vote for hardcore soccer fans. No way in hell I would sacrifice AM sleep before a work day just to watch a soccer game(or any sporting event for that matter). On that note, I'm glad we won and USA is truly spectacular this World Cup!

It's nice to see the final score the late morning after and rejoice ;).

The ref didn't call the hand ball because he new Friedel would save the penalty kick, he was just trying to keep the game moving.

Regardless of that, it was a great game and all the US players did an outstanding job.

Are there any good gathering areas to watch the games in the Houston area?
