I knew someone was going to bring that point up.... Man the OP opened up a can of worms and they are going to feel the pain.
Wow... As JVG's personal b****, I would love to have him back coaching my beloved Rocks. That being said, what a bunch of gibberish this post was. I think RA can be as dumb as a bag of beans. But the guy did get us to the second round and gave LA their toughest challenge. I think JVG is better than RA. But to fire him after this year is a mistake. JVG had 4 years. RA needs the same opportunity.
I dont think Rafer will be a good fit back in Houston. They need to have a good blend of young and old but most important consistent players. For all great things that Rafer has accomplished in a Rockets uniform, he still is a very inconsistent shooter. If this team is going to grow and mature into a champi\onship caliber team; they need a point guard who will distribute the ball and who can shoot the 3 consistently. That will be taking a step backwards for sure. So no to Rafer!!
Rockets almost garranted to advance to 2nd rounf this year because they are much better team than blazers and other western teams besides Lakers. They lost to Jazz and Mavs because they were a worse team. Even though they had HCA both time, they lost to Jazz. The best team always wins in 7 game series.
Dear OP: Please give an abstract up front for this long non-sense so that we could bash you withing having to read the entire article.
The decent playoff run was more down to the players' determination than RA's "wonderful" coaching. RA made so many horrible mistakes especially in 4th quarters and we ended up losing much more games than we should have. I'm glad he didn't win the award, he doesn't deserve it. We have been underachieving for so many years, finally this time we actually get to the 2nd round and people start worshipping him? Give me an eff'ing break.
I'd bring back JVG to be defensive coach specialist. I loved JVG, and felt their playoff losses were out of his hands. The Rockets weren't good matchups with the j*zz. Its not his fault.
I believe that a coach who didn't make the team progress should be fired, specially when the team is very closed to the trophy.
The second Jazz loss I agree they were the worst team, with all the starters from the beginning of the year playing injured or not playing at all. But the other losses, while they didn't have a lot of talent, that first Jazz playoff series was technically there for the taking. But this year, we are a better team but the Blazers had equal if not greater talent on their side and were only lacking in experience. They were one of the better teams in the west and the only team everyone wanted to play against was the Hornets because they were crap this past season. There was no guarantee we'd win the Portland series, just like it would have been no guarantee if we pulled the Nuggets or Mavericks they couldn't beat us. It was a hard fought victory, without contributions from damn near the entire team from Yao all the way down to Lowry off the bench getting people in foul trouble, we might not have won it. Anyway, no on firing Adelman. I have issues with him leaving guys out on the floor for to long but as a coach, you can't deny he has done wonders with this team. And for a guy who we were was mainly offensive minded, he and his staff has done a great job with Rockets defense to the point you can no longer claim it is just JVG's defense being carried over.
I think Adelman was deserving of COY, but Mike Brown definitely wasn't. I'm on record saying that he shouldn't be in the top 5 before the award was handed out. Look at him now. The awards don't mean shizz.
