I agree with that. He never seemed that interested, and while I can't cite sources, I recall him making several comments to the media that sounded like "it was a job and it paid alright" type comments, inferring that he didn't really put much into, or get much out of, the position. In my mind, I always just chalked it up to his not liking looking up at that banner.
Once somebody started a thread inferring that he never did anything because he wasn't clapping as emphatically on the bench as he should be.
Thats a dumb question. Deke clearly has helped Yao more considering how long he has been playing with him. Plus, Yao looks up to Deke for what he has done on and off the court..
Well, that is a little overreaction on someone's part but in all of the Rocket games I attended (and I was pretty close to the Rockets' bench) he looked completely uninterested in the game or the players. He spent entire timeouts staring at the jumbotron and especially the Power Dancers. I guess it's possible that he saved all his energy for practices but knowing what kind of player he was I doubt that was the case. The only thing that makes sense is that he has photos of the Van Gundy brothers in questionable situations/acts.
Funny that you mention that, I remembered I posted this article on another site and I found it, both Deke and Ewing are in this NSFW kind of though. You won't think Deke is a saint anymore after reading this. http://archives.cnn.com/2001/LAW/07/23/gold.club.trial/index.html
Have you seen Dwight Howard's moves. I don't think Patrick is teaching him anything. Dwight is nothing bu a finisher.
