So... at what point is it appropriate to flood the Richmond Strip with cars after a Rockets win like the old days? That used to rock! If we win this series? If we start winning in the next series (if we get there)?
Is there even a "Richmond Strip" left? Richmond was the place to be in the mid-90's. Correct me if I'm wrong...but it ain't now.
Back during the previous Championships it was packed for most of the games leading up to the finals... just nuts. I talked to a cop just before the victory parade. He said their instructions were to let everyone have fun and not to stop anything unless it could lead to someone getting hurt. So people were riding on top of cars, hanging out of sunroofs, crammed into the backs of trucks, and public nudity was the only real civil disobedience. Of course, the traffic down Richmond was going at about 1 MPH...
I was thinking about Richmond the other day, was about to go to Sam's Boat, haven't been up there in a while. What a shame.
We partied after the FIRST Clutch City, after the Conference Finals (the Bamboozled series), and after Double Clutch, if I recall correctly. It started at the 610/Richmond area and continued all the way up to Hillcroft, with stops at Centerfolds and Club 6400.
That's correct. I agree. The reason for the Richmond Strip walk-and-drink-a-thon was because of the location of The Summit. Good call, sir.
Richmond was the street to go celebrate back in the days! Now they have a bunch of signs that you cant make a U turn at certain hrs at night because all the traffic that was back in the day(10-15 yrs ago)...
On a similar note, when exactly can I fire my pistol in the air in celebration? If the good guys are up by 10 points with 1 minute left or only after the game has ended? I don't want to wake my neighbors up prematurely.
a party up and down downtown would be great. what would be great is an outdoor viewing party somewhere in downtown with a huge screen.
