For Yao you can probably get Bosh + some. Raptors do it in a heart beat. Large Asian population is Toronto, and this raptor team not going anywhere with Bosh, and weak draft this year.

you got be crazy to even compare the two..i was so disappointed with bosh season even though he averaged 22 points, he turned from a agressive force in the paint into a half decent spot up shooter... now bargnani is turning into the franchise player...sigh...

Probably about the same on-court production. Maybe Yao a little greater.

Off the court, it's no contest who produces more green for Les.

Bosh for me all day long. It's too easy to remove Yao from the game, and it just frustrates me.

Bosh can even hit 3's pretty well, at least better than Yao. I think that with our players, and with the coach we have, Bosh would make us a better team. The double teams Yao attracts aren't as valuable as the versatility Bosh will bring to the Rockets, IMO.

Without Yao, Rockets couldn't beat Blazers.

I'd take a one-legged Yao over Chris Bosh. Bosh will never achieve anything in the NBA. You can bet on that.

Actually, they think the rockets are the toughest team in the league, and Yao is the toughest center!

Wow you guys are crazy, you don't really value Yao Ming as much as you should. The guy holds the fort like few others, he might not block everything that comes down the lane, but he sure does alter people's shots. Just because Hayes played one great game of defense it doesn't mean Yao doesn't bring much more to the table. He's the reason neither Portland or the Lakers had one post player go off on them. Gasol got 30 once Yao was out.....it speaks volumes. You'll see what he bring to the table in Game 5. This talk is the result of one GREAT victory.

As far as Chris Bosh goes, I think he's a great second option. Problem with him is he's soft down low on both ends of the court.... Plus once the game goes on the line his game isn't suited to being the man. Bargnani is going to be a better player than this guy...eventually.

Bosh is incredibly talented, but incredibly soft. Not taking age/durability into consideration you have to go with Yao by a mile.

What do you guys think of Al Jefferson compared to Yao? He doesn't have Yao's impact defensively, but he doesn't have any of Yao's weaknesses either and his post game is almost unstoppable. I like his humility too. And he isn't soft like Bosh.

It speaks volumes if you only read the box score.

If you watched the game, you saw Gasol get stoned for 3 quarters by Chuck Hayes then put up 18 meaningless points in 4th period garbage time.

Nah, it's mor like the result of years of watching the Rockets with Yao, and then inevitably, every season, without him. Durvasa said it best, he's a blessing but sometimes a curse.

Sam, with all due respect, you are delusional if you think Hayes actually held down Gasol.
When Yao scored 4 points against Prissisy in that second game against Portland, it's all Prissisy.

-Defensively, Bosh is really more of a PF, he can be overwhelmed by the true centers in the league. And we are pretty set at PF.

-Yao averages 2.0 blocks to Bosh's 1.0, though Bosh would be better at defending the pick and roll.

-Bosh is only a 48.7% career shooter from the field, while Yao has shot 52.5%, including 54.8% this year.

-Bosh's last three seasons have been similar, suggesting he has peaked. Yao, on the other hand, was having a monster during JVG's last year before getting injured. He then has had to adjust to Adelman's offense, but I thnk Yao still has room to get better.

-Bosh is not that durable either. He never played more than 70 games during the 3 years prior to this one.

Like it or not, Yao is still the center piece of this core group of players. A better question now is still which players you would choose to fit Yao. Not otherwise.
