    Rick Adelman.

I think throughout all coverage and discussion since Game 2, coach has not really been part of the subject matter. Yes, he's already got his hands full... but for once I want him to exude some personality to either the refs or to the Lakers, "Don't mess with my players."

During Game 2, I was hoping for him to stand up and walk half way over to Phil Jackson, stare him in the eye, point directly at him and say, "Get your f***ing players under control Phil."

I don't know why, but I feel like Rudy would have gotten in Kobe's face himself.
    I'm Rudy Tom-yousonofabitch Kobe.
Maybe it's just some veneration in my mind or but I feel like he definitely would have been thrown out of the ball game.

I would like to see Artest get dirty because so far Kobe's owned him in that category.

2 things to respond to this dumb suggestion...

1.Only the stupidest coaches go out on the court in defense. The only exception is if it is an out of control real brawl and your players are getting hurt. Outside of that running on the court and screaming at refs or ather team players just shows you have lost control of your mind.

2.You have no Idea who Rudy is or was. A great coach who would never let himself get out of control and become part of the problem. He could fire up his players to win but not to fight. That was never his still for obvious reasons.

Finally I would say let the players prtect thier own faster. Don't instigate any thing but don't allow what happened to Battier and Scola and Artest go unnoticed. Get in between and in the face of your opponent

We have some bench players we don't use. Maybe we can send out there to put some hurt on Kobe. Nothing serious, just a Fisher type message on Kobe.

Adelman has to step up and defend his players when things get dirty. but all he does is cover his eyes and shake his head.

and mr. rocket scientist....yao and battier have to have level heads...unless you want to lose them for a game.

i fully expect artest to be duped into reacting to something and losing a game this series.

uh...do u ever see phil jackson do anything beyond just sitting in his chair and folding his legs? defend what. he's a coach. just coach.

it looks wack to me when after artest got ejected, battier fouled kobe with the softest foul in civilization and allowed him to get an and-1. he could have done a hard legal foul and let him know no basket is easy.

and yao was just speechless in the post game conference in regards to the physical play.

tmac needs to limp over if things get rough and smack someone. That is the only thing that he can do to redeem himself in houston.

Adelmann doesn't need to get involved in all of that. HIs job is to coach his players and call good plays. I hope the Rockets try their best to focus on basketball and not brawling. If it does go down, is Joey Dorsey around? Mtumbo could still probably take on half of the Lakers on one leg. We're on the verge of being a great team. Let's not piss that away fighting. THat's what the Lakers want us to do.

During his post-game conference after game 2, when asked about all the physical play and such, Adelman did say something along the lines of "we won't back down." Not sure what else you want him to do. He's an old man.

It should either be Aaron Brooks or Brian Cook, since both of them do nothing to contribute for the team.

Totally agree here. When Yao is angry, Yao becomes an absolute beast. I always love re-watching the game against the Sonics when Collison took him down with a rugby tackle and for the rest of the game yao just manhandled him

Villanova guy here; not a "player fan", since Kyle came over i genuinely became a rockets fan in watching games. Love the heart and hustle that pretty much everyone on the team shows, which actually reminds me of Nova players now (final 4, yeah that's right). Anyway, out of hs kyle had a pretty bad thuggish rep, and his first big game as a freshman against Kansas he got ejected for throwing a punch. This guy is tough as nails. i can obviously tell he is taking his role as PG and floor leader seriously by trying to calm people down rather than decking fisher, etc. But this guy will take a bullet for the win (no pun intended landry). I've seen him protect his players against guys like chandler on OK when they cheap shot. So this post is basically an FYI-you got something special in Kyle and i anticipate his/artest/etc's toughness to continue to exude through the whole team and lead you guys to some very big victories in both the near and distant future.
    Go Rockets!
