With the Dallas win, and the Hornets cushion over the Jazz, we are all but assured to avoid them. Lakers are not resting anybody on Wed , so Jazz will finish 48-34, Mavs will either finish with 49 or 50 wins. Jazz will stay in the 8th spot regardless. Although now, I am a bit worried about Dallas, I am very happy that we get to avoid the j*zz though finally.
I beg to differ. if the Rockets win at Dallas, and San Antonio loses one of their last 2 games, Portland beats Denver, and Utah wins at LA, The Rockets will be the 2 seed and host the Jazz in the playoffs.
As much as I don't think we match up well against the Jazz, we can't be afraid of them. I don't think the Lakers will rest everyone on Wednesday...
Actually there's an article on RealGm saying that the Lakers won't sit anyone out for the game. The article also says that just because no one will miss the game, doesn't mean they won't play reduced minutes. Lakers have a decent shot at a win since Bynum will probably play as many mintues as possible to get in shape. The most amazing scenario would be if the Jazz pour their hearts out to try to win, the Lakers rest their top players, but the Lakers still win. This ensures 8th for the Jazz and they will be psychologically crippled by the fact that Lakers won without full strength. Additional bonus is that the lakers will gain confidence seeing the Jazz put in SO MUCH effort to avoid them.
Honestly, tiny chances are that we might meet them in the Wset Final .. Definitly, we would beat them 4-0 in that game series...
We must WIN and we don't get Jazz. If they win, (and Hornets lose), they tie with Dallas and they win the tiebreaker for the 6th spot. If they lose, then they have 34 losses and they are 8th. If we win tomorrow we will play Dallas or New Orleans. If we lose, maybe Portland, maybe Utah...
