give me honey on my waffles though waffles and ice cream is an amazing dessert if it's a good waffle..
I think it depends on what kind of fruit you are planning on putting inside the waffles. I think if you put chunks of fruit like apples and bananas in with the waffle batter the batter might not hold up that well when you cook them. If you chop up the fruit too finely it might turn into mush. I think with pancakes you are fine with cooking fruit in the cakes but since waffle batter has to be somewhat thin to cook properly in the waffle grille you are better off putting fruit on top of the waffles.
Chicken and Waffles are the bomb. I used to eat them all the time at Fusion Cafe (did that close down?). My wife ate at Bouchon in Vegas (one of Thomas Keller's restaurants), and she saw chicken and waffles and had to order them. Apparently that was the best meal of her life. I keep bugging her to make that version...
Lemon corn waffles with blueberry sauce - mmm... Ingredients Dry ingredients 1 1/4 cups +2 Tablespoons flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup cornmeal Wet ingredients 1/4 cup corn oil (veg or canola oil will do) 2 cups milk (reg. or soy) 1/4 cup yogurt (reg. or soy) zest and juice from 2 lemons 1/4 cup sugar Directions Preheat waffle iron. Sift together the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. In a medium bowl, mix together all the wet ingredients (including sugar and lemon juice/zest) until well combined. Create a well in the center of the flour mixture and slowly blend in the wet ingredients until combined. Make your waffles according to manufacturers directions. I use a belgian waffle iron and 1 cup of batter per waffle works for me, but you should consult your directions. For crispier waffles, let cook 30 seconds to a minute longer than the directions suggest. Blueberry Sauce Ingredients 1 pound frozen blueberries, partially thawed 2 tablespoons arrowroot powder 1/2 cup maple syrup 1 teaspoon vanilla Directions In the sauce pan, off the heat, toss the blueberries with the arrowroot until it is dissolved. This takes about 5 minutes, mix occasionally. Over medium heat, cook until moisture is released and blueberries are warm. Add maple syrup and vanilla, heat 5 more minutes, until sauce thickens a bit. Serve warm! http://www.theppk.com/recipes/dbrecipes/index.php?RecipeID=181 ---------------- On just regular waffles, I like mine with a little bit of pure maple syrup.
alright, I am sold. Where can I go for some good waffles that isn't a complete dive? (sorry waffle house)
Was there a certain twist to his version of chicken and waffles? And just lots of butter and some syrup for me.
I have the GE waffle maker. My brother had one and I liked it, so I bought my own. It works really good considering the price. It has some mixed reviews, but I haven't had any problems at all since getting it in this Feb. It stays hot and makes two large waffles every 2 1/2 minutes, which is good for me because i'm only feeding two people. One issue I did have was actually finding one. My bro said he got it at Wal-mart, but I checked at Target first and they didn't have it. I had to goto two Wal-marts before I found it.
Is awful, lol. Each waffle house I go to is like being inside a sewer. They do have good waffles though.
